  1. Manitou:

I have seen just about all of your posts the past while, and all are incredible. I think the reason is some ppl here are getting tired with every other post not related to anything. Generally I remember when a post like yours received comments out the wazzzooo , thus making some of us alternate comments on threads. But now, seems like many have taken that approach, and comments aren't coming. Some people have or are in transition of moving on to different online communities also....

I enjoy your posts and everybody else's for that matter fishing related. It takes a lot of time , and you're proud to share your findings. But now it's like sharing money with an affluenza teen.

I have noticed fishing everything seems to be slower , including selling. Like a complete ghost town. I felt the market has died , wonder if it's the same for everything else, flu shot or... * thoughts of conspiracy*. Regardless of if people actually respond, the amount of views posters receive should make them feel some sort of comfort (I do all my OFC on iPhone so it doesn't show me views tho, so I'm assuming that function still exists).

Anyhow manitou, you are not alone and many people have felt what you feel.

    Great posts bud!

  2. Sorry I disagree with many here, barbs exponentially increase your chance of landing your catch, especially when they run towards the boat.

Yes yes keep tension on it and your good...I lost a few of my biggest fish on barbless, never ever again (unless it's law). When u hook up with a biggun it's exciting and mistakes (even if minute)are made.

  3. It's pretty much $30 to diagnose and fix an easy issue on a reel. On a cheaper reel, it's very hard to diagnose what the symptom is without seeing it. Does it tick with the spool off reeling in fast with no tension? Bearings can tick hardcore if the reels have tweaked out of alignment too....

Honestly tho u should buy a new reel(s) that are meant to come apart and be serviced annually. Great examples include saros and up quality. Sienna to Symetre is good, but I've noticed weird qc issues below saros (more so on avg then saros and up models).

Kick it to the curb and give it to guests who don't know what's good

  4.

Longnose and spotted from what I understand.

Spotted is extremely rare in Ontario (I believe it's considered threatened in Ontario). My friend got a gar in the Niagara and the Fish ID experts couldn't determine if it was a spotted gar or a Florida gar that someone released from a fish tank. They would need to dissect it to confirm the ID.

How big was the gar? Did he release it (obviously thinking it was a long nose ), or did he send it in for analysis ?

  5. I think they might have that pultruded transom which was supposed to be bulletproof.

Good on them for following through regardless ...that's what u want when u pay a premium for a boat even buying used.

"Oh u didn't buy it directly new from us? Can't help you" only hurts them in the long run.

  6. Had this kinda thing happen to my VW after the ice storm. Started it, it was shaking like it was misfiring and immediately check engine light came on. I first assumed fuel line was still frozen , or something to do with water intrusion as there was a lot of rain that turned to ice then quick melt.

    Has been running fine since.

I'm hoping u just need your computer flashed and let her dry out. Seems weird both cars were affected.

My guess is ignition coil something ..

    I'm not a mechanic

  7. Super awesome setup but dayum look at all that empty wall space...the thousand rods you have in the corner called me to tell you they want to be on a Rod holder(s)....especially that one bent like a cross-bow

  8. Yup be careful when purchasing on line from the USA. I just learned the hard way. New inflatable PFD regular $200 on sale 1/2 price - $99.00. with shipping 26 bux + exchange on the dollar they billed my visa $176.00! That's not all. I just received a bill from UPS. The bill states I owe them another $41.00 for import duties & brokerage fees & of course HST! So the total for a 99 dollar PFD is now $217.00! Do your best to shop at your local tackle shop.

Yep. This holds true. There ways around it sometimes, not always.

If you are fishing xraps spinners etc in grand, but also want something beauty for everything...a proper medium/fast anywhere from 6'4-7'2 will work, and they pop up often. Heck, buy a used or new cheaper ml rod and a medium, and see which u use most, then sell the other/uupgrade accordingly. I will point out that a ballistic will drop in $$ on resale incase u dont like it....hard.
