  1. Grangers, Shermans or Jimmy's (Rotten Ronnies)...all three are reputable. Used Grangers twice last year, was happy with the service provided. As stated above, bait, transportation and wood provided in the price.

Grangers and Shermans are basically side by side down the hill at St. Williams...Jimmy has his huts out of Old Cut.

  2. I was trolling for musky on the last day of the season on the Niagara (got skunked). I trolled hard in -10 C. conditions with 3 different types of braid. I had Cortland Master Braid on one reel, standard Sufix on 2 reels, and Sufix 832 on one reel. All the braids were collecting water and freezing the line except for the Sufix 832. The 832 didn't seem to freeze at all, and I am going to try it for ice fishing now. I rarely use braid on the ice outside because it freezes and is a pain, so I am looking forward to testing the 832 on the ice to see just how big of a difference it will make. I will be very pleased if I am able to use a braid on the ice outdoors that doesn't freeze up, because I love braid in some situations. I'll let everyone know how the 832 performs in a future ice report... which I hope will be soon :)

Sounds very promising, Aaron!!! Would be good to have a braid that performs really well for some of those deep water Simcoe fish.

  3. Thank you for that information.

Called the shop and they will be open Sunday from 9 am. They suppose to get minnows on Saturday.

Because i will be coming from Toronto i would like to know if is another bait shop on my way.

Franky - thank you for your suggestion. I asked ProTackle person and he said that they can point to the place where you can park car and fish.

Good luck, be safe, and (most importantly) post some pics!!! I'm already suffering from fishing withdrawal, and, it hasn't even been four weeks :w00t:

  4. Do you know actually the place where i can get on ice???

I wouldn't even want to hazard a guess, at this time of year. Living in Woodstock, I'm way too far from the Bay.

Check the Quinte forum, call the Tackle shop recomended by Monsterman, or ask Dave himself. Use common sense...it is still really early, I don't plan on hitting Quinte until sometime in the new year.

  5. I have the model stated in the title. I'm going to be using it this ice season (has both graph and flasher modes). Anyways, my question is, which is my best/lightest battery option for it? I could get one of the little lawn and garden tractor batteries, but, even they weigh quite a bit for their size. I'm lugging everything on the ice (no sled or atv) so weight is a factor.

    Any suggestions, would be appreciated!

  6. Just checked the Canadian Costco site...looks like this is only available through the US. Not that I'm interested in it...already have a Clam 2000 (pretty much the same thing) but that Garmin GPS next to it in the add, is still really tempting!! Still haven't picked one up.

  7. I wonder what the over/under is on the Leafs obtaining 4 points or more in the next week? Boston, Pittsburgh, Washington, Philidephia. Next weeks HNIC is Montreal again, so that might be 1 point as it's usually good for overtime, but this years Leafs not likely. That week is all Canada teams, Montreal, Edmonton, Calgary, Vanoouver.

I think the Leafs will be 2nd last in the league and out of the playoffs by Xmas!!!!!!! Lottery pick for Boston.....most likely!!!!!!!!

I wonder what the over/under is on the Leafs scoring 4 goals in the next week??? :wallbash::wallbash::wallbash:

I can read it no problem, as well...but, it drives me crazy, how in the modern era of texting (which personally I don't think anyone over the age of 18 should be doing) the english language is going to "hell in a handbag".
