  1. Finally made the move to a slightly bigger house/property. From a 1bdrm condo overlooking North Bay to a 160acres bush lot in unorganized township with a very energy efficient house, with 400 meter frontage on a river chock full of speckled trout!

Very happy right now and a little nervous. Boredom will no longer be an issue for me.

Now I need a chainsaw, ladder, tools, riding lawn mower, snow blower etc etc etc etc etc etc

    woo hoo!

    Congrats Chad.

It's always nice to have a lot of free space.

  2. Thank you guys,

I am adding picture of same starter as i have to clarify things. Hope this will help.

Just want to confirm before doing something wrong. Proper way to oil it will be pull a plastic cap and clean everything from that shaft and oil it after, right?

What about that spring which is under the cap, if i am turning it clockwise or conter clockwise - i can see the difference and can hear it as well. Looks like it's not pressing to hard or does press to hard depend which direction you go. Is any way how to set it right? What kind of oil i should use?

  3. Hi guys,

Looking to get some wise advise from knowledgeable people. I do have Johnson 2003 25 hp with electric start. Motor was running perfectly fine, until I turned plastic cap on top of the starter's pinion gear couple times preparing it to season - stupid move but I wasn't thinking that this can do something to motor at that point. Now once I am starting it - it starts fine, but that pinion gear(sorry if I am not correct) didn't go down fast enough and for 1 or 2 seconds it's making weird sound. I was trying to turn clockwise small plastic cap on top of it same one I turned originally, but I can't set it properly. Can someone, please, give me instructions how to do that? Also I would like to know if I need to lubricate shaft with spring under that plastic cap?

    Thank you very much

  4. Spent a week on Onaping last year, Walleyejigger is right that the launches are on the south end of the lake. It is a very long lake so will take a long time to boat out to the north end. Lots of islands and bays so it is easy to get lost if you are not familiar with the lake, spent most of my time on the south end because I had small kids with me. Takes some work to locate the fish on the south end, beautiful area though.

Do you might to let us know - how was fishing?

  5. I am just looking for some advice on lake Onaping in the greater Sudbury district. I`ve heard that it has excellent fishing, especially the North End. However I was not able to find any boat launches in the north end of the lake.

Can anyone recommend a launch + parking site closer to the North side? My boat is fairly light (14ft Aluminum), so if there is no launch- perhaps a road leading to the water with a gently sloping shoreline somewhere in the North End, we could probably remove the boat manually, but then of course we’ll need a place to park.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks in advance.
