I havent had an issue yet, but any suggestions from the all knowing, would be great.
Im spooling up 2 reels with braided backing line, then tying it to the lead core line to it. The end of the lead core I usually tie a swivel on, and then my leader line. Problem is, is that I like a long leader, in which makes it a pain, when im trying to land a fish.
Esp if Im alone in the boat.
Any suggestions on what knot to use? I will be using heavy floro line or mono line.
I have even thought about using heavy tapered fly fishing leaders.
Thanks in advance

Hey, so hooking up 2 deep cycle batteries to my Minn Kota trandsom mount. I had 2 in the boat last year and just hooked it up to one then the other once the other was dead. Is this how to do it? What kind of wire should I use to hook them up to the terminals and what battery does the trolling motor clips go to if it matters?
Thanks guys...getting everything prepared and ready for summer, can't wait!
MTBF
If it matter's it's a 12v 30lb. 2 seems like alot for a 12' boat but it works for me
Thats a 24 volt set up, for a 12 vlt 2 battery set up. pos to pos, neg to neg. 10 g wire and a 30 amp resetuble fuse should suffice.

That area is very well posted as a, no fishing area. Maybe he couldnt read and mis understood the picture on the sign. Thinking that there are no fish there, and he wanted to prove it for himself.
Im sure he got what he deserved.

Fishing World is a bigger store with a better selection but the service at Bill's beats them hands down.
That's the bottom line.
Since a certain crs let a few years ago at the barton shop, i dont see the need to go there. Yes bigger and better selection, price wise almost the same as the upper mount bait shop.
Service wise, Tim and greg are top notch guys too a tee.
They are in it for the long haul and I see their drive, to keep us fisherman happy.
Kudos to them

I had an older gent aproach me yesterday in a public fishing area, at the lot. Must have been a local, anyway he did say that "we were not allowed to fish there, and its not open season yet. It would be adviseable for everyone to leave".
Ya OK!!!
I turned around kindly to explain that this is the 4rth Sat of april and there are 5 saturdays this month.Today is opener, care to read the regs.
He in return replyied"its not right, we cant have this"
This particular area is protected by the province, and a certain assosciation. A public trail goes through most of the area, with all land owners allowing it(where the trail runs through their property).
Im thinking he purchased a little peice of heaven to retire at, and peed off yesterday with the extra traffic in the area.
Anyhoo, im glad to say that, all the areas I fished yesterday and today were free of shoreline garbage

What we really need is for the word filter to be programmed... so when it sees Bills Bait and Fishing World in the same thread, a big dead horse picture pops up when you click the thread link...
Why?, they do work together in some manner.

For me about a year and a half ago, I was typing in fishing hotspots and what ever else fishing related on the net. But then I recalled someone saying forum this, forum that. And thats what I punched in. And clicked onto OFC
Im on a few others but rarely go on them at all. This is the place to be
A ton of good gents on the board, and Paul you are a generous man my friend.

It,s amazing, when you work with these types of components, that you can come up with a working object.
Some funnier than others but they will do the job .

A side note, wash the bearings. Any score marks and/or discoloration on the bearings or race. TOSS THEM OUT!and replace them.
