Looking threw my manual(mercruiser)
The torque specs varies depending on what model gear housing you have.
It ranges from 18 ft/lbs to 55ft/lbs of torque.
Use stainless cotter pins and never, never reuse them if they are removed.
Call your lacal dealer for proper specs, and have the engines serial # handy.

My boat's in storage 7 hours north of Hamilton.
I'm guessing shore fishing would suck.
So see ya in 14hrs then

Some impressive fish for sure. Considering I live so close it's ridiculous I've never fished for them.
On a side note, just curious, do people keep those giant catfish?
Give it a shot one day with the kids, its a blast! No comparison to trout fishing, but its fun.....

My sincerest condolences Dan.

Ive been there twice and enjoyed myself both times. The scenery is fantastic. The fishing wasnt as good as I thought it would be. Would I go back, to fish, canoeing along the rock face. Definitely YES!

Only if the head bolts are the torque to yeild type mostly seen on newer engines.
As for the OP's question check on the iboats forum.
Agreed, great bunch of folks there.
Dave if it is a yield type bolt, price wise princess auto has them and hasnt failed me yet.

I can't seem to finfmd torque specs for tge head bolts on my 1997 Suzuki 25hp 2stroke tiller
Dt-25
Tried to find online without any success...
From what I've seen... 20 foot pounds...
If you know or know where I should look for the info please let me know
not sure of the specs , but I do know on vehicle heads for torque. A torque angle gauge is required. Pretty cheap at princess auto.

The only legal requirement when I do a safety on vehicles is a licence plate light on the the rear and one tail light.
Larger trucks and buses regulations are different.
Brake or signals is not a requirement because hand signals use can make the vehicle legal.
I can actually be charged by the ministry for forcing those to be repaired.
On the front, both headlights must work and be properly aligned.
I know it doesn't make sense, but what government regulations do?
Not to bump this thread in any manner or butt heads. But A question for ya bernie. How can you/we be charged by the ministry? The customer can go elsewhere for a certificate if they are not happy with all the findings on the set vehicle.

Trailcraft Bearing Seal

If you decide to pull the hub again, pull the seal out. On the inner side there will be a # stamped on it. All suppliers will have a crossreference chart
Buy the best for the extra buck or two. If I remember corretly, its national seal that has an extra inner lip on the seal. CR is good but I prefer stemco seals for what I do.
