Well as most of you guys and gals know, I took over for loonietoon this year.I did promise him if he needed anything that I would be there for him. So I did, tending the bbqs . Everything went as smooth as pie on saturday, well sort of

But we were on top of things for sure .

I would like to thank Elisa, Terry and maureen,Elisa's neice and another kind lady cooking the hotdogs.

Me and my girls help set up for a bit, once it was under control it was time to fish for a short bit. As I promised my girls We managed a few nibbles but nothing to show for in the short time we had. So back to the lot we went to start the ques . I sent my girls off on a wagon ride that they surely enjoyed. Then it was time for them to go to work and they did I couldnt be more proud of them.

Anyhoo to make a long story short, there are too many good gents to list. It was very nice to finally meet the ofners I chatted with on line and pmed, and always the members that I have met/fished with .

Thank you all for your kind words, I couldnt be any happier to help out and seeing you all out there

One more thing, we finally lucked out on a few whities. And it had to be after the tourney and all ,oh well!

On to a few pics

So I was driving down Queenston road in Hamilton thsi morning dropping my girlfriend off at work. All of the sudden the light turns yellow, nd I make no attempt to stop as it was still wet out and I was on the side where there was still a little snow left over. As I'm going through the light I notice a cop in the other side. crap I say to myself, my girlfriend says is he coming after you? Yep I say. So he comes up to my car, license, ownership, insurance. I start digging through my glove box looking for my little wallet with the slips in it. No where to be found. So I say sir I appologize I can't seem to find my ownership and insurance. He goes back to his car, and comes back with a ticket in hand. Charles do you realize a redlight ticket is $450 dollars and 5 points as it went up last January, not having your ownership is 100 dollars, and not having your insurance slip is 65 dollars. I apologize to him telling where I think my information might be and he says no worries. I noticed you like to fish he says ( I had5 5 or 6 ice fishing rods in the back of my car as well as a couple tip ups) He made some small talk about fishing. and said well I've given you the lowest ticket which is not being able to produce your insurance slip and its 65$ dollars. He sends me on my way and says good luck fishing!

 

 

 

I'm taking that as one fisherman to another. He let me off big time!

 

My girlfriend said thank god you had those rods in the back!

Probably the same rookie that was disciplined after my little go threw an amber light episode. He made a 6yr old cry and peed off his elders in the force on the same morning

If you asked them to have it tracked, then a tracking#will appear on the receipt.I made a really bad mistake last year with a money order, sent it off as is, because I didnt want to pay the extra fee. Guess what, IT WAS LOST aparently . Never received either.HMMMMM! I never want to go threw that again with canada post.

I just sent one out last week to another ofner, and it was received on time and the package was signed for.

So we don't just register at innisfil beach? Where's the T&H Supply Company?

As one has mentioned the lower esp, is a complex waterway to navigate and fish.At this time of year right up to early spring you will be dealing with ice flows(not my cup of tea).

I have fished from shore for many years, but this year ive experienced it many of times by boat(first year rookie).

The devils hole i will never hit with my boat, only with a reputable guide.

The ramp area, there are big eddies in there so beware with a small or shallow hull boat(it can be scary, I know), the back current will drag you right into them.

1/3 way down with strong winds can create a shift in current with white caps that develop.

The mouth, o boy, thats a mixed bag for sure, esp if your in the niagara bar . If trolling do your home work. Esp in tempermant weather.The niagara bar topo map is available on line for free.

So all in all, make sure everything is 100%in the boat, and have a radio handy.

Ive personally had one mishap in a friends boat this year on the lower.Thank god I packed my radio and extra rope .

I paid $1.31 for gas this morning. The future is now.

Last time I was back in italy(22 yrs ago). I choked on what they(we) paid for gas. 1250lire or so per liter.

That basically equals what we pay now, 20 some odd years later.

Im just curious as to who is going. Im sure I will recognize quit a few ofners from the pics over the year.Many ive met already and fished with as well.

As a few of you know, I am taking over loonietoons position this year, with my two little darling assistants, thats if I can get them to get up early in the am.

They are sooooooo excited to participate in the event, that they cant wait till this saturday

We will be doing a little perch fishing close to shore in between things.
