  1. Cain is much quicker, more technical, and does anyone have as good a cardio as him? There is a reason Cain won. Brock Lesnar would have lost the fight previous as well, if his opponent didnt gas out. He needs to learn to take punches, or strikes. If youve watched his fights, the last 2 anyway, where he has actually taken a few punches to the head, he "turtles" right away, putting himself in a very vulnerable position, and it now cost him.
  2. I agree completely, but cant help but laugh the odd time I see a 25 lb hen salmon caught and kept to eat, but the guts and ROE tossed aside... never thought Id see that happen.
  3. I'd assume where youre fishing, the limit is only 2 steelhead, with a sports licence. Make sure you know the regs. A nice salmon though, now thats a MEAL!
  4. This pissed me off as well.
  5. Jimmy Riggin for walleye on Lake Erie. Very nice boat, and an even better guide. He has a website too. Just google him
  6. I do see your point. I dont know much about this, but I'd be all for helping the steelhead/salmon population on the lynn river system. As far as I knew, it wasnt a very good steelhead fishery, but maybe the removal of this dam could change that?
  7. Try fishing the north shore (Dover west to Normandale) in about 20 feet of water. Might be worth a shot. They were getting the smallies there a week or two ago. And yes, tubes are probably the best option.
  8. very true outlaw. Its quite common for comercial fishing boats to harvest $1000's of dollars of fish over their quotas, then get slapped with a $2000 fine... and making a large profit on their over harvest. Just wonder what the fishery would be like without comercial fishing
  9. I'd say its just a dropback with nice colours. Looks like a migrating trout to me. I find resident trout are normally covered head to tail in spots... Nice fish either way though, very pretty
  10. I gotta finish school strong, first lol... so havent even been out. Plus we fish very different rivers, if you're from Toronto. Oh how I would love to fish some Lake O tribs
  11. good work!!! I'm still working on my first steel of 2010. Less than a month of school left
  12. Lol, and it seems most anglers keep most of what they catch anyway...unfortunitley. Hows that for showing disrespect to such an awesome creature
  13. there wasnt any slush thurs and fri, how did you guys do?
  14. I'd also suggest the streamside rod if you can find one. Gotta love the price, which includes a lifetime warranty.
  15. And the guy that lives south of the dam near the mouth, has a boat submerged in the creek, I dont believe that is legal either??
  16. The long point worker said he owned both side of the creek in that spot, and therefore also owned the creek bed. I always wonder about asking the guy for permission, but I dont think I could suck up to him, and be nice to him, after all the trouble he has almost caused me, and the crap he has put a buddy through... I know people who fish that stretch multiple times, and have never had the cops called on them. I guess it depends on your luck.
  17. That landowner is a DICK!!! I know its still tresspassing, even if its not posted, but If youre gonna go about calling the OPP, then why not post signs to warn fisherman? What makes it even worse is that LPRCA owns both sides of this dicks' property, with a trail going right through.... And nowhere can you tell where Long Points property ends, and this guys property begins... One thing if you catch me on your property multiple times, but I'm like 4 feet tall and a light weight, you see me on your property, ask me to leave, and I will... not call the OPP, luckily they couldnt find me. I know other people who have had nasty run-ins with this guy, and the Long Point guy I talked to said there are quite a few people who have been fined.
  18. not the Nine mile, and I know not Golden trout, they are only native to california....there is a such thing as golden rainbow trout.... look at the pic again if you need, its pure yellow... then again you havent caught a steelhead before either though right?
  19. Got out and fished a trib for a few hours yesterday morning. Was able to land two, the bigger one came out of a big pile of junk. The smaller one has some pretty colours, and odd colours I would think. Check out both pics. If it didn`t have red rosie cheeks and a pink stripe, I would have thought it was a Brown Trout. It has a lot of yellow/gold around its mouth, and around its cheek. The whole fish was a light gold colour as well. And the spots are different from any steelhead I have caught. They are almost in the shape of a "v". So, is it just a regular steelhead with unique colours? A resident? I researched golden rainbow trout, maybe thats what it is? Just curious. The pictures just dont do justice. After the pics, he was quickly released. Lets here some opinons!!
  20. Steelhead!!!! 13 ft rod and float reel, I could do it everyday!!!!!!
  21. He will hook you up with a great deal! He is the best there is
  22. On another note, to the original poster, yes it might seem like a lot of money for a centerpin, but it will last you as long as you want it to. Not like spinning reels, that you have to replace every other year
  23. if you want something under $100, it will have to be used. If you are willing to spend a little more, head to Angling Outfitters and see Joc. You wont find a better deal for a beginner float reel. Okuma Aventas with the upgraded bearings go for around $169 new. Thats what I bought in the Spring and I like. No, its not a kingpin or anything, but its caught its fair share of big fish in my first year, and it spins nicely with the upgraded bearings. Give him a call at the very least. 519-539-5494
  24. I've heard its been pretty slow there lately, and if you only seen one fish landed of the many anglers there, it must be slow. The fact that it hasnt rained since when? also might make the conditions less favorable as well. Keep at it, it can only get better!
  25. yea lol, I hear you guys, even a 5 minute fight seems like a while, as I am using a light lead but this fish went nuts, to the point where I was ready to give up. I even had to take an extended break to rest after haha. But it was all worth it in the end. Cant wait to get back out there, if we ever get some precipitation!!!
