  1. YUKKKKKkk THEY LOOK LIKE THE VD PICTURES I WAS TORTURED TO SEE IN HIGHSCHOOL
  2. Thanks Roy and everyone for their input. I thought I had a good bonus with these Rod Holders when I bought the Boat and motor. These Pics are taken with the boat that they came in. These are my observations. Here I have it set up like the Bait Caster as per Roys Photo. The rod is unbalanced to the point where it feels like its going in the Drink I believe this is what G Coach suggested as well as others. I like this one better than the previous but here's the Cons. The Reel is on Top and upside down and tilted leaning against either the boat or holder. I believe that the line is also touching the Boat. As you can see the front clip is under the rod while the Rear is locked in. This leaves the front insecure possibly sending the rod to the Drink. But still it is better than the first Pics Any other observations befor I figure that Pictures 3 and 4 is how the Spinning Rod is supposed to go.
  3. with this particular Rod holder its different than what you have Raf. My Battery died on the camera so it will be a while as I tried the different variations. As far as I'm concerned, I wouldn't buy this type, but maybe I still have it wrong or testing it on dry land without tension may feel more insecure than trolling with tension. Wait out on the Pics. I'm not giving up yet. Found out its called a Berkley Quick set Rod holder and every picture on the Internet is the same Bait caster as Roy's Pic. Cant find a pic with a spinning Rod
  4. Ill need a picture Dawg because I tried that and the reel (spinning) will be on top ( because of the reel stem) and its a pain to unhook the rod in a hurry. Im only dealing with this because I got it free. Got to go to work now looking forward to a solution. So far Roys Pic works the best.
  5. Never said I was not proud of them or support them. I'm not looking at the athletes them selves ( not their fault if they cant compete on the world stage) which many of you are indicating. What I am saying is there is no reason why we should not have a medal or our best is two seconds from the worlds best. Don't focus on the athletes that compete today or past Olympics. Focus on why we are not contenders. Again don't blame the government because we are the ones that elect them. It is obvious that we don't care to win because we are just satisfied at , "At Least they are competing". Its OK that our one and only boxer got Beatup bad from some guy from an unknown country. Are you really satisfied and proud of that?? Really!!!! DAH ---- Cliff another tax is not the answer, as you know we are taxed more than the Americans, Koreans, Australians, Chinese, French, Germans, Norwegians, etc, etc. If we cared about Sports, Pride, and Fitness, just maybe we would take some money from somewhere spent now ( I got many Ideas where I could cut some useless expenditures IE free money to Quebec, Pensions to the Block, Possible Carbon Tax, MPs early Pension handouts, etc etc etc). I say our problem is the typical Canadian has no Pride, which includes being a winner in the Olympics.
  6. Yup, Thanks, so it should work for a spinning Rod?
  7. I got this Rod holder and I cant figure out how to use my spinning rod on it. I'm thinking its for Bait casters only. Need advice and Pic would help. Thanks.
  8. Just bought a portable figuring on using it for the canoe or small boat. Any problems and anything I should know when setting it up. Any and all advice will help as I'm no pro with fish-finders. Thanks
  9. Yea giving cheap gasoline is like giving a kid a cheap machinegun... Isnt that insane, hateful lady that tried to Ban Rock music by the name of Tipper, Al Gores woman. Pathetic. Same as all the rest of the Green movement. You cant out think a person that doesnt think.
  10. I think you hit it right on the nose. Its not the Government because they will not care because we don't care. ( otherwise you know they would make it an election program like that silly green platform because its more important on what light bulbs we should use) Its not the money, but its the system. Lets look at hockey, we have no problems sending little Johnny across the country to better his skills by playing on an elite team. However we will not send daughter Sue away for four months across the country to school to better her athletic skills and give her a scholarship if she is willing to put in the effort and excel. The Americans will train at least 5 days a week. We Canadians cannot get a kid to do 2 x 20 minute Physical fitness classes a week. As far as coaches if we don't have them we sure could import them. Instead we will import people that are running from something in which we loose anyhow in the big cities. My Gym Teacher in High School ( an Olympic Coach) immigrated to Canada and the school Sponsored him for his skills not his quality of life abroad). Are our Kids Soft. You Betcha they are. No football in High schools, no Rugby, no nothing because of insurance purposes or parents afraid of them getting hurt. But probably most importantly. No Body Cares. We have no Pride. We say its OK if we finish 15th at least we tried and are not last. Last thing, sure we had Ben Johnson, but we crucified him before the world did. We had Donovan Bailey, but where did they grow up. Not in Canada, because if they did, we'd never hear of them because they would not have the motivation or backing from us to win or train. Lets face it, soccer causes more of a stir, because its hip to be Proud of where you came from, then where you were welcomed. Before you young guys criticize me, I can tell you that our Physical training has deteriorated drastically since I was in school. We are a touchy, feely, touchy, Soft Nation of talkers and non do-ers. If South Korea can get medals and Australia, we should be able to. Ill just sit back like the Typical Canadian and say. I DONT CARE IF WE WIN, AS LONG AS WE TRIED, BECAUSE WINNING DOESNT MATTER.
  11. I absolutely never bashed the athletes, as a matter of fact I said dont blame them. Wake up.
  12. Hey the Olympics are on!!!!!!!!!! So as a proud Canadian I have to say that I am embarrassed of our attempts at the summer games. Lets see, hey we have no medals. We are not even a threat. So whats our problem. Don't blame the Government and Don't blame the Athletes. And don't use the Excuse that Canada is a small Country. Any Opinions on our poor showings in the Olympics since the Late Sixties. Curious on what you think. Do ya think international soccer might be more popular than our Pride in the Olympics?
  13. Thanks, I always want to learn more about everyday things.
  14. Get a Motor Bike and fish them all. Hope THAT helps
  15. I headed up to Big River again this week and for the First time this year my Daughter came up with her boyfriend to try out some fishing. Last year me and Terrie caught Pickerel every time we put our lines in on Hackett Lake. But when she brought John up for a second trip the Lake was closed because of a severe wind storm and we ended up on another Lake. John had never caught a fish before but did well catching seven jack. I was hoping on this trip to teach him more and maybe catch a Pickerel or two. My 15 Hp Honda was still in the shop awaiting parts but I got hold of a Yamaha 9.9 and boat for a good price and was anxious to test out the motor. As it turned out it worked excellent After Terrie showed me how to snap Panoramic pictures I tried a few of the shoreline and Boat dock area. My Daughter Terrie, is now working in Calgary with the Federal Government testing our foods. When I got posted from Petawawa Ont in 2002 she was about to commence her last year in High School and took the move the hardest. We ended up in a small town of Edgerton Ab., 30 mins from Wainwright. That year she would Graduate with a class of seven and then move on to college in Red Deer and Calgary through an Alberta Student Loan. Eventually we would move Back to Ontario for a year and then I decided to retire and move back out West. Because we left our Daughter behind it made it easier for my Wife to move back out West. Terrie would Graduate this Spring and started working with the same Lab that had Co-oped her. Now Johnny here as you can see by the way he holds the reel, had never fished before till last year when he caught seven Jack, had grown up all his life in small town Alberta. He moved to town from the farm when he was sixteen. He is a Welder now in Calgary, not his first choice to live, who is working on starting his own buisness leasing himself to the oil companies once they both get stableized. Somehow they got to make it work as Terrie has only a few choices with the Government and oil is about four hours away. I suggested to Terrie that she try my favorite Rapala and sure enough it didnt fail us. She would catch four Pike before John would catch his first fish. Although I was just the Boat Operator during the trolling, it gave me a lot of time to reminisce. My mind would take me back when Terrie was about seven years old and as we were canoeing along the Petawawa River in Algonquin Park and every sound she would ask, WHATS THAT DAD? I would say that's a Beaver hitting its tail on the water, or that's a Frog you hear, or That's an otter swimming. My only regret about the Army is that I missed so much time with my family that I will never, never get it back. I hardly ever remember being there for them. I will regret that till the day I die. But I'm so proud of them how they coped, of course my wife deserves a medal for what she had to go through. We decided to still fish and anchored outside a weedline in 14 feet of water and hit the pickerel using frozen minnows. I even caught a small pike using a small minnow. I would eventually catch 3 Pike and 3 Pickerel at that spot before departing as a storm was rolling in. Johnny would catch two pike and we even got him to take a hook out. I laughed so hard watching him flinch All in all not a bad day but I suggested they stay the long weekend as one day of fishing is too much of as hit and miss.
  16. I want Miss P3TA Bit and her jellyfish men followers to tell the Eskimos to stop Eating Meat and be Vegetarians. Also is it OK for a Tiger to slowly chew, Rip apart thier prey as they swallow them Alive. MORE MEAT PLSE
  17. Im sooooo embarrassed. The Cons of working late and the time change, and in a hurry to watch the RoughRiders
  18. Check this out, at least this Western Newspaper has a Spine and will not advertise this insane add http://blog.P3TA.org/archives/2008/08/cannibalistic_a.php As for my self, when I eat my steak am I supposed to feel or be like the Be-header. Totally Ridiculous. I hope these guys get some payback like a good Bea/////, never mind too many Softies here.
  19. Watch out for Bob Izumi and Zambonie, they are Both " THE MAD DOCK FISHERMEN" If any of them bounced their lures off my old dock, out with the sling shot. I have mixed feelings on this one. After fishing some of the lakes in Cottage country, I felt by the locals that I had no Business on their Lake. Should of seen one time when I camped at the local Boat Launch as I arrived after Dark and couldn't find a single spot on the shoreline that wasn't owned. Woke up next morning and seemed to have the Whole Lake Committee paying me a visit. Being the shy guy I was I asked them if they wanted a beer. That was it they vamoosed. My Point is, common sense dictates. But if BIFF wants no one around his dock, Grow a Spine because it will be awhile before it is illegal before all the BIFFS get their own way
  20. You can help too. Please donate or give funds.
  21. By any chance does your ole Lady sunbath and your the jealous type. As for me Im too shy to pull up infront of a dock that is occupied, boaters or anywhere else where they can here me talk or I here them, unless there is a 20 minute workout happening with Bess and the girls.
  22. This weekend was not good weather wise. Because I still had no outboard I was left with canoe fishing only. But the good news was that I got a call from a happy mech who told me the parts are in and the outboard would be ready that day, (Sat). I says great and thanks, but I wont see it till at least Tues as I am 3 Hrs North in Big River. Myself and Rodger decided that we would try a small lake close as it was windy. I had fished it Last Nov and near Froze to Death as it was extremely windy with a winter bite. So around 7 pm off we went with minimal gear and a trolling we went. Rodger Hooked two small ones as I but only figured the miniature Pike was the only one worth taking a Picture. We noticed on the other side of the Lake that there was some sort of structure so we decided to explore. What looked like a long cabin was actually a wind break for a crude campsite. The site was extremely clean. There was fresh ashes and four logs used as seats. Absolutely no garbage, no butts, no Btl caps, no tins nothing but an old piece of tarp. Me and Rodger found a spot with a bunch of feathers that looked like they were plucked. Absolutely no signs of human garbage. Rodger figured that they were probably Natives maybe fishing, hunting, or just collecting a few feathers. Jokingly I told Rodger that you guys were savages. We also found these marks on the tree that looked like a Bear was clawing at. At first I thought it was Hatchet marks but the way Rodger mimicked a bear clawing it made sense. Id like if someone who is experienced or Knows plse confirm if these are in fact Claw Marks We also noticed that some one had carved crosses right through the tree with a chain saw. Extremely dangerous if someone was to camp as a strong wind will fell the tree possibly killing some one. Rodger has told me several times that he would rather come across a bear than wolves which I find surprising so I asked him why. He says wolves would leave nothing not even Bones. I wonder if his Meds were kicking in or if he knows something more than I do as he should as hes been Logging and hunting all his Life.
  23. Thats a Negative Big Fella. Ill stick to what Ive got. Just to change the subject, Im thinking of using my old Mitchell 300 reel that I found in the Garbage and hooking it up with a 9 foot light salmon Rod and fish the Dirty old Saskatchewan River. Bet ya the drag is as good as the Okuma 200 dollar reel. Dont call me Fossil, but I couldnt see a classic reel go in the Garb
  24. Yesterday my Tatto said SWAN Woke up this Morning it said S-A-S-K-A-T-C-H-E-SWAN Will this get me in Trouble?
