We had really good black ice and the warm temps Sunday didn't affect it at all. The weather is going to be warm for a few days and i will defanitly be staying off until colder temps. It is nice to have a couple days under the belt though.... Let's all pray for the cold weather.

I made it out today with trapshooter and Technagirl . We hit Circle lake again for some Pike. We were unable to hook any , but we did have some action. Trapshooter had a breakoff at the end of the day and we also missed a couple. It was a great weekend to spend out on the hard water doing what i love best....FISHING Thanks for the fish today guys . i agree with you Glen. Shallow water test hole and go from there. If it isn't thick at shore , it defanitly won't be any farther out. And defanitly stay away from river mouths or any current flow area.

Well , let's do the math...... 1 sled = 500lbs. 1 alcoholic= 140 lbs. = 640 pounds. I think 1 " of ice would hold them.....lol I remember people driving cars and trucks past me on the Bog last year for opener on 7" or 8 ". Nothing but travel by foot till at least mid-January.

The temps have been very cold here the last week and the lakes are starting to freeze over. I was joined by a fellow board member Ben and we headed out for a fish. We found 4-5" of good black ice. This is just a small lake that froze over last weekend. We ended with 2 pike and they were caught on a Fat Boy micro jig and a waxie. We are treking out tomorrow and giving it another shot. Cheers

I have Lake Nipissing 5 minutes from my place in North Bay , and also will be hitting Nosbonsing , Bernard , Simcoe and the BOG. Hopefully splake up here soon!!! A well rounded season species wise.

It is crazy on big bodies of water such as Simcoe or Nipissing how much the ice seperates. Last winter on Simcoe while hunting whiteys 11km out , the ice pulled apart a few days earlier and pushed back in , resulting in a wall of ice 10 feet high , about 3km long(or more) Bring on the ice!!
