  1. Take care when you post the url. If it has a '?' in it, it might not work, throwing a message saying that dynamic urls are not allowed. Then you are back to the above, saving the image to your pc, and uploading it to Photobucket or OFC or Flickr or others.

  2. You can use the same trick to post any picture that you find on teh interwebs. What Photobucket does for you is to bracket the url or address of your photo in 'img' tags. Look again at Cliff ccmt's example. You see >And then there is the closer - .

So, to post a picture that you find on the web , right click on it, and select properties. Then you can see the url of your photo. Copy that, and then paste it into your post, with the 'img' tags described above.

This lets you do stuff like this:

    meteorite.jpg

    That's a hunk o meteorite btw.

Mebbe even your browser will call the address of your picture its 'location' and provide you the option to copy that location. That makes it even more easier, also.

  3. I schooled my NS bro in law with a 3/8 oz silver blue cleo for mackerel last August at a pier near Halifax. One on the hook, and three more trying to take the spoon too. Every species spends some time near shore, you gotta do that research.

I think the gaspereau are just like the alewives in Lake O, some sorta herring.

  4. We are seeing some very nice support here, that's how we roll at OFC. What we need for Rick right now is some hard, short term support, if that meaning is clear. A letter to TJ will result in a forward to Rick, with no names attached.

An auction is still a great idea, for the longer term. I will definitely bid on a guide package, any takers?

  5. Brian, take your crossbow with you, and bead on the alpha dog. "Nope, i can't take out all of you, just you, Ace". A pump 12 gauge loaded with #4 might be a good backup. With that sort of support, I might try the snort sniff tease, just to see if I could change the order.

I heard a pack of wolves pass by one morning after breakfast in Algonquin Park, about 400 yds away from the camp. All of a sudden, you are not at the top of the food chain, and the hair on the back of your neck really does prickle.

  6. I live in Etobicoke, if I haven't said that already two years ago. I grew up in Peterborough, went to some more school in Kingston, and lived around 427 and Burnamthorpe for the last 27 years, and now work in Mississauga with a travel time of 18 minutes. I have two daughters in their early twenties, and the RLG is a reckoned force.

    *sigh*

  7. There is a distance on each tributary near the mouth called 'The Lower'. If you proceed north for a few miles, at least north of Hwy 2 and maybe north of HWY 7, depending on the river, it gets called 'The Upper'. An exception of course is the Niagara, where up and down refer to the falls, of course.

These tags are pretty much arbitrary and follow from word of mouth and local language.
