Looks like a great year to me.
Smoked me, that's for sure

Absolutely.. One of the most bulletproof drive trains on the market..
I know but Consumer reports doesn't recommend them. But then ditto for the Safari
-
Was thinking of buying a 2010 Tahoe to replace my 2003 Safari with 340,000 fairly trouble free kms.
Do it?

What would the motor be worth as is?

Took a drive up to the cottage on the north end of Pigeon.
No damage and only small branches down. Trees pretty bare now.
Water levels down 2 inches in a week even with the rain, and gin clear.

My recommendation:
Get a small point and shoot for your pocket when fishing, travelling or anytime you might need a photo.
Then get an SLR with a practical zoom lens like 18-105 when you want an excellent photograph and you don't mind schlepping a large camera around.
There is no doubt that an SLR, even on auto, will give you better shots.
I have a Canon Powershot. Small, take it anywhere. Takes way better shots and video than a phone.
I also have the Nikon D5100. 18-105mm lens. Takes amazing photos and HD video. Too bulky to take everywhere.
Henry's is a great place to buy. They price match any Canadian on-line prices.
Hope that helps

Thanks for the epic report. LSC is on my bucket list

So that's why fishing sucked this year.
Now ya tell me

Well done. Great stuff, that fluorocarbon.
Too stiff to use as the main line on a spinning real.
Are you using a baitcaster?
-
awesome. I'm gonna try that

Golf. A 4 letter word IMHO

hey folks, I have a new to me 1800 fisherman with a EZ Load Bunk trailer, I want to put some load guides on the trailer and looking for some advice on the length of these.
Any current owners out there that have experience with these, should I be looking at the 2, 3 or 4 footers?
Thanks everyone
My Lund Tyee 17.5 trailer has them from the factory.
They are 2 ft long and come about half way up the side of the boat on the trailer

Not one picture of a pick-up??? Come on man!

My wifey pays the bills. I noticed we pay $81/mo for Rogers cable (taxes in). It's only a mid-range package.
That's a chunk of change that I'm reluctant to part with.
Somebody said if you press them, they would reduce it.
I called today. After a brief discussion and a threat to leave them, they reduced it to $65 (taxes in).
I told them I would think about it and call them back.
We don't have a PVR machine. That would be another $13/mo for 36 mo. or $509 to buy it.
On their website, seems I could add WFN for $2.50/mo.
Do you guys find a PVR useful? Is WFN worth getting? I'm thinking during the winter, I could get my fishing fix.

Did anyone here attend the public workshop on the state of Walleye in FMZ 17 last night? It'd be interesting to hear how it went. Thanks.
I was hoping someone could report

Well done! Some substantial fish.
Didn't know the Mississippi had such a good fishery.
You mean we didn't have to spend $30K on a boat to catch fish like that
-
So sorry, Paul.

Beauti truck! Is it an 8 or 6 cyl?

Did the Ski make 50?

One of the benefits of being on one of the Trent Severn lakes is fairly consistent levels all season long, usually to the detriment of the surrounding watersheds, especially in a dry year as this one was.
Ya.
I feel guilty that our cottage lake (Pigeon) is so stable, at the expense of folks in Haliburton.
-
Hey Everybody.
Just interested.
How were water levels this year on your favourite bodies of water?
Pigeon Lake was down a bit but not much.
A buddy of mine was fishing the Ganaraska pier last week and said Lake O is down 3 ft for sure

Nice.
Took the family (5 of us) and van about 8 yrs ago. Spent $700 on the ferry there and back.
Tried for Atlantics on the Humber River. Barbless flies only and foreigners need to hire a guide.
No fish but a good time. Gotta go back to get skreeched in.
So far this Season
