What about using lead weight? like a 1/2 ounce?
Sure. Sounds about right.

Use a heavier weight at the end of your line to practice. I stood on a picnic table at the park. A light lure will require a harder cast. This leads to a bird nest because of spool over spin. IMO you need a magic thumb to cast light jigs with bait caster. For me a spinning reel is best for the light stuff.

Which usually allows you to fish within your treaty grounds. Being Mites status doesnt mean you get to do whatever the hell you want.
What is Mites status? I was under the impression that they have the right to fish and hunt whenever/wherever they want as long as it’s for their own use

Dollars to donuts they’ll have status cards if their obvious about it. Same thing happens at Buckhorn every year.
That’s what I suspected.

I hope the spring spawn for walleye is good. Saw a couple guys fishing the bottom of Burleigh Falls today just up from Stoney. Signs all over about Fish Sanctuary. 😐

I was there last week and they indicated it should happen during the spring break in April.
Thanks. Might not be much of a sale with fishing gear in short supply most places.

Anybody know if Bass Pro will have a Spring Fishing Sale this March, like usual. Never received a flyer so far. On line only US info.

Perfect day for ice fishing. I bet there are 1000 guys on Simcoe. Hope they don’t leave their garbage behind.

I'm the outlier in the group.......90Hp Etec
I wouldn’t put a new discontinued motor on a boat no matter how good.

Yes I will be using 1/4" copper off the hot water line, seems like a lot of wasted water...
Why hot?

I haven’t turned my Aprilaire humidifier on yet. Humidistat says about 40% humidity. Buddy told me to get them to install with 1/4” copper water line and proper on and off valve. Not the plastic crap. Can’t help you with location. Good luck.

You young guys have it all wrong.... first you buy her something you KNOW she would really like (the more expensive the better) and you wrap it up and put it under the tree but mark it "from santa". Then you buy whatever it is that you really wanted (if you are smart it will be worth a little less than wife's gift) put that under the tree and act all surprised when she opens hers and then you open yours. 😊 Don't ask me how I know but it works every time. You are welcome 😉
Genius, Cliff. 😎. Where were you in ‘85 when I needed this marital counseling?

Not a bad pick up for $100. It's an older model, but who knows you could get many, many years out of it.
Sounds like the wifey. 5 yrs older than me. Married 36 yrs. 8 grandkids. 😎

That’s quite a story. Initially probably thought you had Covid. Makes you appreciate the normal every day things. Probably bringing your marriage closer. I bet she’ll let you get more tackle. 😉
