  1. Big trick with most lines ,once you have spooled your reel up with fresh line is to un-spool and re-reel it all back in

When you hit the water with it for the first time ,un-spool it all and reel it back in,it spools back on tight plus the fact it gets wet when it dries it tighten everything up real nice

All reels ,baitcast or open face

  2. TJ,He's Toast ! :w00t:

Oh Spicoli, you remember the British Bulldogs dont ya?

Wait till Ya meet the Scottish and Boucherville BullDawgs!

I hope ya still have a little Viking in Ya

You would look good with that pink hat on the front of a Float in the ............ Parade :w00t:

    Spicoli

    bwahahahahahahahahah

  3. For walleyes

I like jigging with Fireline, its direct and instant when hook setting

When trolling for walleyes,I prefer mono,Simply I am looking for that stretch, often times Fireline is to stiff and I find it allows for more lost fish.Keep in mind I am short line trolling walleyes 3 to 15 feet behind the boat. For distant trolling,I would suspect Fireline as a tool of advantage to distance behind the boat and time of reaction to hook set.

    For muskies

I use Spiderwire stealth and Fluro carbon leader, been using this et up since 94 (prior to spiderwirs was Whiplash and gorilla braid). Have yet to see a failure,I also keep tabs on my retying and leader wear

  4. actually we used the curado 300 for muskies last season a few times

was the first season it was used

It was suggested to me that it would be a good reel with high gear ratio

Its most certainly perfect for muskies.the gear ratio is high but one can slow down the retrieve.Drag and gears,no concern for muskies after it held up on Dorado's for Larry Dalhberg

For muskies, either the curado or Calcutta 400 are main gear pulling tools I use for casting

    Trolling,I'd consider a little bigger

  5. Hey Brick,nothing like adding a personal touch :w00t:

    Scent,I like Scented lures

Gotta admit,I enjoyed the play by play read of this thread

Is he gonna get out,is he not gonna get out,is gonna have to sleep with it :w00t:

No he got tanked and yanked it out :w00t:

Good on ya,glad all turned out well

Good shot from the doc and you wont rust from the inside out

  6. I only have 1 question

After 1500 hours of intensive usage, what breaks down on the both engines?

I have some idea on the optimax and verado (no complaints)

I also ran OMC,and own one as old as the when the first one came out ; a 22 1/2 HP with cylinders opposite of one another.

    My collection,1 x 10 hp early 50 something,2 x 18 hp 1958,1 x 35 hp 1958, 22 hp no idea(old),

    5 hp no idea (old)

a true test is done in intensive working conditions

Gas mileage should be calculated over the same process, simply any engine will vary and change according to the precision of the parts and the efficient and cohesive operation of all parts and will gradually change over time due to wear until.Untill the wear settlement occurs, there is no way of standardizing any comparaison

Intensive working conditions will lead to more accuarate performances, thats occurs over time

In manifacturing, quality is always dependant on human accuracy, many times failure exist in this area and this area only ,no matter who is the manifacture

  7. Very disappointing, the lead of a conservation organization!

What’s not surprising for conservation organizations, members in this case the President, regurly practice habitual disregard towards fish and game laws.

In this case the lead was caught, in many cases I have observed, the organizations turns a blind eye to the list of law breaking members

Its unfortunate, because their role is to exemplify, educate and propagate the true spirit of conservation in fish and game

His actions and behaviour are highly questionable, to even consider defending himself would a complete disrespect and disregard towards all users of the resource

Considering the abuse and infraction, I would suspect a person in this situation would abuse the legal system also

But the flip side of this case, why an auxilliary CO?

What relationship did this Auxilliary CO have with the President?

(There seems to be evidence of colaborated works between these 2 individuals)

Hopefully this is not a case of abusive and vindictive power abuse

  8. Wife goes skating for an agressive 2.5 hrs every Monday and Thursday afternoon. I'd better start going with her as she's getting into such great shape she's gonna trade plump old me in for some lean young stud! LOL

Ya Wayne, should trade them blades that glide in air for blades that glide on ice

Who knows, you might be sporting Swarthy, carved and chiseled features by the spring :w00t:

Paul nice to see you involved and playing at this level

    Jedi,good laugh

  9. 120 in possession and a minimum 5 1/2 inch size for minnows is simply a step towards the hidden MNR longterm objective of a total live bait ban in Ontario in my opinion. The MNR rep who said the issue "will be revisited" is probably just stalling to get anglers to stop potentially crabbing to their MMPs or the MNR Minister or BETTER YET the Cabinet Board members about the restrictions.

If anglers go quiet hoping the issue will be "revisited" then after a bit of quiet the MNR bios behind the restrictions will happily run upstairs for periodic required briefing to the MNR Minister Advisors, and they will brag and brief how they have total angler support for the direction they are going.

That’s a dishonest way of managing our resource, using tax contributing salaried monies to impose minority and un-founded/un-proven reasons to regulate

Are they not mandated to manage in the best interest of all and the resource?

Not self or organized driven personal agendas or beliefs

The letter states it,Its obvious what goes on behind close doors

  10. Everyone has had some hockey experience...sounds like. How many of you on this board would like to like to rent some ice for a G2G?

Keep that thought,OFC skate a thon

Renting ice is not all that expensive

  11. Cool, seems few folks skate.Skated and played hockey till my 20's

Got back into it this year but did skate some 5 years ago, feels real good

Lew,speaking with my cousin over the holidays who is a fire fighter like his Dad here in MTL plays every week in a get together leaugue somewhat like you mentioned, was thinking maybe by end of season I will loosened up and back into it to play by next fall

ccmt, cool pic,ya kids get us into things. The pond pics are a thing of beauty.Nothing like skating outside on a home made rink.Remember skating myself on the st lawrence river with my dad and Ice Boating when I was kid

Roy,ya Emerald shiner in the Top Corner

    2 Minutes for Hooking !

Misfish you played some serious hockey too,I played very competitive when I was younger also but its funny how some wiggles show up after years :) but they soon go away after a few times

Ya get that feeling in your legs again

I thought of bringning it up,winter is kinna boring (because I do office work at this time of the year) and hibernating like Yogi stiffens things up

Ice fishing is ok but not its not like fishing during the summer season.

I see some sled, quad but many other things to do,skating was thing I enjoyed

Lots of outside rinks here but we need some cold to get em in use again,so inside delas are the thing next few weeks

Joe,roller blade hockey looks fun.I suspect the glide is not the same.Actually there was, not sure if there is a proffessional league of roller blade hockey stil around. The past owner of the Mtl Road Runners speaks of his moments about it while fishing with me.Always intruiged by it but wheels on my shoes scare me,but then again like GCD says,"filet Knives under Boots "

  12. Let me get this, your raising funds for a Gov departement that is Fully funded by tax payers and suffering because There are more civil servants in all other departements offices and within its own departement offices than trully needed?

A fund raiser for the Gov?

Dont get me wrong about needing Co's

I think its a good gesture to aid your local Co's

I always thougth taxes were a form of forceful donation

I see things are so bad,we now donate out of the good grace of our hearts to the Gov
