Well one thing is apparent, when I buy my boat I am NOT gonna say one word about what brand of motor I have on it.......
We need Lew on this thread to put out the flames!
No problems on the make of motor
But....... It had better be a console
Hi Mazing,my point was,all manufactured products are prone to human error
As far as stats, as a client once said to me one morning
"If your prop aint turning, you aint earning"
I have run 150 optimax's up to 1200/1400 hours on a single season(Good probability that in 15 years the main compressor for the fuel pump bearings may wear) ,Opti's growl like no other
Verados 1200 hours, their Tanks (yet to have any failures)
I also sold my last OMC with somewhere between 6000 to 8000 hours (it was also the 60 degree engine which has been in production for 30 plus years),other than changing a power pack every 2 years,it ran perfect like a tractor
To be quite frank, other than maintenance and few evident wear downs on each manufacture,I was quite satisfied with both North American manufactures
In any product the quality remains on the % of human error
The last human on earth that was perfect, they put on a cross for it
I have not seen an Outboard made by man on a Cross yet

II run these motors head to head against each other so nobody can tell me that Mercury or Honda are better motors BECAUSE THEY ARE NOT PLAIN AND SIMPLE.BE AN EDUCATED CONSUMER WHEN MERCURY BUYS EVERY ALUMINUM BOAT COMPANY SO THAT NO OTHER MOTOR COMPANY HAS ANYWHERE TO PUT THEIR MOTORS ALL THAT SAYS TO ME IS THAT THEY KNOW THEY HAVE THE LESSER PRODUCT.SERMON COMPLETE
I run a Mercs for 2000 hours a year,I dont post how good they are I use em as good as they are
You my friend are an amateur, actually an amateur has more knowledge and education than you
At least the common angler dont mind asking instead of assuming from a few hours of use how good they are
If you had any quality control in your thinking, you might just admit they all have their merits depending on the intended usage
The only lesser element in this post is yourself

Reef Runners come in all flavors, thems all delicious
Ben pointed out the true nature of crank baits and fisheries
I will say,my fishery enjoys Reef Runners,it actually out fishes all other cranks, why I am still perplexed but I gave in
I'll take a pink lemonade with Fried Chicken on Wonder Bread with Blueberry Muffin for desert while wearing my Cheap Sunglasses under the Blue Hawaiian sun

Bill on my muskie baitcaster I use Dacron 63 pound test as backing, only do a couple wraps to cover the bottom of the spool. As Irish pointed out, first year I use as is,the second year I reverse it onto another reel. You get 2 years this way.
Unless I chop it all away during the season from re-tying
I've used invisibraid but 80 pound, have not had any issues with it,I still like the stealth line
You can spool direct, the prob with slippage is not emptying your reel and reeling in line before using for the first time upon getting on the water
Are there any young people.
