I love my largies and this is why I am leaning towards Cook's, but I'm thinking I can't go wrong anywhere on Simcoe .... or could I?

All, Due to work contraints, I prefer to leave my boat in a marina which would allow me to drive to, hop on and start fishing. Also, having it close to home would allow me to pick up the rig and take it to other bodies of water if I choose to. Picking up a new rig (18' Princecraft, 115 Opti) and looking to leave it in Simcoe. I'm from Vaughan and common sense to me would be Cook's Bay Marina or the like, closer to home, but I am not sure if the bass fishing would be best. The last thing I would like to do it run 30km's every day to the best bass fishing holes. I understand SImcoe is Simcoe and the 6lb smallies are everywhere, but I am limiting myself by choosing the wrong marina location? If you do not wish to share spots/thoguhts publically, please feel free to PM me. Thanks in advance, Mark

Looking at a new rig and looking very closely at the Mako (BPS variant) and the Whaler. Anyone know how these boats are in shallow areas? I know they are bigger water boats, so i am not so concerned with that aspect of the hull design, but I am a little concerned they'll sit too low in the water coming from a conventional bass boat. Any help would be appreciated. I only found 1 in Washago and he's asking too much for my $$$$$. Anyone know of anyone else selling? Thanks in advance, Mark

I fish quite a bit by myself and was looking to replace my older rubberized, heavier net and came across this deal. The long handle allows me to tuck it under my arm, but the net is so light that one can handle the net with just 1 hand. I am very surprised that it is only $10 vs the plethora of $40+ nets, that I had to pass along the deal info. Bass Pro Shops® Silver Series Landing Net $9.97 ~ 20” hoop ~ 48” handle ~ Fish friendly, rubberized conservation netting ~ Shallow, flat bottom for easy release ~Easy hook removal material ~Corrosion resistant finish

Anyone ever read a book on bass fishing that actually was worth reading? Looking for some reading material that isn't the usual beginner info ... looking more for water temps, seasonal patterns, etc

15'4" bass boat .... I don't have the room to add another battery and I'm looking for more power on windy days and rippin through weeds.

Purchased my boat with an older MG ProSeries 56lb and am always wanting more out of it. I can't go 24V and was wondering if it would be worth my $ upgrading to a newer 12V trolling motor. My issue is that the highest lb thrust 12V is similar to what i already have. I also have upgraded my battery to ensure I have the best 12V system for the trolling motor. Worth it?

Hey All, Booked a cottage on Dalrymple for a week and looking for a lil' advice. Not looking for anyone's honey holes, just looking for some tips and tricks so I don't waste the first few days just trying to find 'em. Thanks in advance and if you see me, please say hi. I'll be on a 16' Hydra-Sports Z-255 with 40 Johnson. Mark

This will be my 3rd season with my '94 Johnson and I've always put 91 octane and have no issues. With my increased frequency of fishing and fuel prices as high as they are, am I wasting my money?
-
Thanks everyone. I'll look elsewhere.

Thanks Boss!

Looking at renting a cottage on the South/Eastern side of Cook's Bay and I have never fished there because people always advised me to not fish there with my 15'4" 74" beam bass boat (1994 Hydra-Sport Z255, 1994 40HP Johnson). I understand that my boat is not a big water boat, but if I stay within Cook's Bay, am I setting myself up for trouble? I also understand that the eastern side of Cook's Bay will take the brunt of the winds and I just want to know if I should look to rent a cottage elsewhere. Advice is always appreciated.

Temagami is a little too far. looking towards the Kawartha's now .... much closer to home and some of the people in may party aren't keen on driving 4+hrs.
-
not sure if my smaller bass boat can take the large body of water of Nipissing.
-
seen many cottages on Kijiji for Chemong. Kawartha region is also an option.

Thanks Raf.

I have the navionics maps on my GPS/Sonr units. Last thing I'd want to do is lose my lower unit during this trip.
