Just watched the pvr. It's great to see new shows and no more reruns. Dave bring such excitement and always enjoyable watching. I'm not a fan of exotic fish, but I'd watch those goliaths any day. Looking forward to next year. Dave, we need a ringtone of your laugh.

They're on sale at BPS and was wondering if I should jump on a few. Anyone use them? UPDATE: I purchased 2 of the 6"ers. The 6" and 8" version in firetiger, brown back and purple back are on sale for $12.94 (on clearance), down from $38 or so.

I was in the market for a 6'6"-7' MH baitcasting rod and noticed on Cabelas.ca that they are selling the 7' for $99 down from $220 or so. Are these any good? I was leaning towards a Shimano Compre.

The body of water I fish has the following: Musky Pike LM Bass SM Bass Walleye Crappie BlueGill Perch Carp Catfish I usually fish for pike and bass and I'm trying to understand what or when my target species predates on which baitfish. I've tried reading up on the premise of "match the hatch" and all the info I've read is just to match the hatch, but I haven't found any info on deducing what or when the hatch to match. Other than looking in the water and seeing what species and size are in the water, thats all I've been able to figure out. The list above are all fish I have seen in this body of this water, but I'm not sure if the bass and pike I'm targeting eat all the other fish (at the same time of the year or different times of the year) or they just target 1 species. If there was only perch or only bluegill or only crappie in the lake, then I would deduce that that is the target prey, but they all reside there. I would also assume there are minnnows and crayfish too. Any suggested reading or help is greatly appeciated. Thanks, Mark

I have my boat at home for some work and thinking of rushing it to get it back in the water before I store it for the winter. How's the pike bite this Late September/October? Thanks in advance, Mark

I was looking to pick up a curado, but the citica is much more affordable. Any real world experiences with both? I hear nothing but amazing things about the curado and was wondering if I can get the technology in a more aoffrdable package. Thanks in advance, Mark

Which knot have you all found gives the best strength when tying on your fluoro leaders? I used to use uni-to-uni's but have always found them hard, but just tried the barrell knot and seems very strong. Thanks in advance, Mark

My observation leads to a question on lure colour
MSBruno replied to MSBruno's topic in General Discussion
I understand all that you have wrote (I think) and thank you for that, but my question is that all 3 colours produce the same, all fished at the same part of the lake, all at the same level and with the same technique. They are the same bait, used the same way, just different colour pattern. -
I have been working a body of water which contains pike, smb, lmb, walleye, perch, bluegill, catfish, carp and crappie. I've now had success with xraps and have noticed that colour selection doesn't really matter as the pike and bass (as even a walleye) will hit a xrap in either the silver, clown or perch patterns. I initally had only used and had sucess on the clown and decided to start using other colours to see what they preferred but after trying the silver and perch, I've noticed no increase or decrease in the amount of fish ... All produce fish. I understand this is a reaction lure, so does colour matter? Or am I feeding fish that wil just hit anything? Thanks in advance, Mark

I'm heading out tomorrow and just wondering how the bite was these days in and around southern ontario? I'm off to Sparrow, so I'm hopig the warmosh front, stable weather all week, along with full moon play towards my way. Thanks in advance, Mark

I've always fished the drop-shot nose-hooking a worm or minnnow, but I just saw an Al Linder video where he ties on a offset worm hook, texas-rigged and drop-shots the worm weightless, texas rigged. I am also reading up on people wacky rigging worms on a drop shot. Anyone try either of these? I'm out tomorrow and planning on trying them.

For those of you who stick it out bassin' or just generally fishin in the rain, what do you lean more towards? Do you abandon top-waters? Sub surface lure? Go deep? Mimic dazed and confuzed baitfish? Thanks in advance!

Looking at the option to leave a 15' bass boat at a marina for the season for convenience. Sparrow Lake looks good which allows me to meet up with friends and allows passageway to other bodies of water. Any idea on pricing? I've called around a received pricing in the neighbourhood of $350/season .. does this sound right? Anyone reccomend a marina at Sparrow or in and around muskoka?

I would assume the tongue weight would be the key here. I can easily lift the front end of the trailer and I don't believe that'll lower the back of of the Jetta too much. A previous poster said that these smaller boats are weightly lightly in the front and the vessel itself is 725lbs, but the motor, batteries and gas are all at the back end of the rig. I'm not too worried about driving the setup to and from home becuase caution and experience will previal. Another question is .... is it illegal towing a 1600-1700 lb rig with a car rated 1500lb max?
