  2. Were headed to Nipigon for a week and taking the senic route home and plan on splitting it up over a few days.  Looking for a place to pitch out tents in this region not too far from the highway even better would be a chance to launch the boat and catch a walleye.  Any suggstions via pm would be much appecated.  Crown land is best but pp. Would also be fine.   Thanks guys.

  3. Fished pretty good last June. We camped on an island for 6 days Only place I've put 800 inches of walleye in the boat in one evening. We caught 18-26 inch walleye pretty much every cast for an hour before dark.  East end is shallow West end is deep.   Lots of water to cover.  We had them patterned the first day we  smashed them every morning and evening we had verry stable weather not sure if our experience was the norm or not as it was my only time  there. Beautiful scenery some unmarked hazards.A few bears , 20 bucks to get over the dam and back with your own boat.

AFAIK, Fushimi is now run by the municipality of Hearst....  as Ontario Parks closed the place years back. We went there every year .. for many years. Make damn sure you have a trailering cover on before you make the quest down that dusty road! Wonderful place.. 47 camp sites.

I stayed there 2 years ago. It's still a pp. Half the sites are seasonally rented but nice lake and you can just beach the boat at night.  No size for us but steady action.

Last time I was there, it was clouds of them.  I hope it's not the same this year.    Lots of Muskol packed.

Have you tried the thermacell that screws onto a liquid fuel canister? Works wonders in the boat and aground camp.

  6. Meh bugs .  Got to pay your dues for world class Brookies you guys are soft.  A hoodie and a can of Muskol I'm good to go.   Last time I was up there first week of June they wernt that bad. It' allot colder nights up there in may/June than down here.    We will have a bugtent at camp for eating in and meal prep if the bugs are horrendous.

If it is one canoe only some sort of communication device....big water with big wind/water action.

Not taking a canoe. That' the point of this thread. No way I'd have a generator in a canoe

  7. Not as many guys run them on huron compared to lake ontairo but flasher fly has put a bunch of gb salmon in my boat.    It' going to depend on watertemp and thermocline to find salmon . If you had a temp probe it would help allot eliminate any water over 55 degrees is my rule.   Not surface temp but down temp .  I prefer a little colder than that still. Then you need to find cold water and bait often fish 80-120 ft down depending on the probe results.   I would say the fishing would be easier in August than July. They would be staging if conditions were right and easier to find and more likely to be in warmer water.closer to shore. Rainbows will be higher in the watercollumn .often  find them in 65 degree water closer to the surface.  If you want big kings you need to head south to lake Ontairo.   Think green for flasher fly combos. And be carefull leaving the mouth I haven' been out in a few years but there are  sandbars and they movie from year to year but usualy well marked..
