Headed to Nipigon for for 8 days June 1st  I'm well versed in backcountry canoe camping.  My mother was a ranger at l.s.p.p. so I was brought up with it.   But this trip we will only  be about 10 km from the ramp and have the leisure of multiple trips in the boat.  So what am I forgetting that I would normaly leave at home In the canoe?

 Chainsaw ,small Honda generator and 12 ga. Are already packed.   Discuss...........

If anyone needs to get rid of some I will provide a nice warm home and treat them nice.  It makes sense for these amnesty days for people who have illegal guns , get them off the streets, that being said if  rather see them in the hands of a collector than be destroyed .

As the title states looking for a 28" barrel .heck I'd buy the whole gun too.     Also interested in  marlin lever's if anyone' looking to sell.

My maui jims are worth their weight. In gold.  If you have health benefits can likely get a pair from the optometrist.    I drive 5-6 hours a day for work and have the slightest prescription.   They really help with fatigue  and helping spot fish.

Condolences, lost a family member on that lake in '89 I'm always nervous when on lakes in the area.

I tried to fish the mouth of the credit a few years back it was a real cold year . When we got there no ice had to fish the river by the rowing  club.  Got a few weird looks from locals.    Also fished m

eaford harbour.  We setup then the wind kicked up was weird being on 12 inches of ice that was moving up and down that' for sure.  No good fish to show for our efforrts.  

Baby' s compared to Ontario deer body size  but numbers yes.

Had a decent buck walk in this morning would not provide a shot with the bow.    Was slow for us in Smith's falls for 1st week of rifle.

I wouldn't use cherry. White oak is the only wood I would think of using but on a tinner slap some plywood in there and be done with it.

If be trolling deep diving cranks in 30-60 in the area inside the bridge might get a salmon.

I'm itching to get out, but this area is so infested with moose hunters I have to wait until rifle season closes before I can really get out and most of the mallards and woodies are gone by then. Hoping to try and dial in some northern ducks on the ottawa river later in the season as well.

Yea I bet there would be some upset moose hunters if you were blasting away at ducks all day.

Just bring the shotgun out on your toon! I'm sure you could can fab. up a gunrack for that thing

I hear ya Brian. I like the solitude and scouting side of deer hunting But the waterfowl stuff is way more social and a heck of allot more shooting.
