And finally this one probably not the best for ice fishing but defiantly a screamer
-
Get a winch on the front and carry a 2 ft piece of 2x4. If you get stuck pull out the winch line all the way. Drill a hole put the wood down the hole and attach winch cable instant winch anchor anywhere on the lake. Hope that made since. Put the wood under the ice not just in the hole.
I'm chicken on a ATV on the lake. At least with the sled I can cross water if I need to. Also pressure cracks are much safer on sled.
You can pick up a beater sled for fishing with lots of miles left for 1000 bucks

Put it in a hockey bag , thick canvas one.

I thought about it, it's given me fits before too don't feel bad. From a trusted friend "there there but have lockjaw" that was from earlier in the week said it fished real slow but the fish were tail dancing and boiling all over the place. Only one way to find out for sure. Good luck.
I've had sucess on just about everythin there when it's hot from yarn to live minnows. If your using a short rod a slip bobber will be your friend. Spoons work good too.

I ain't moving anything . I sent an email to the nottawasaga steelheaders I will be taking some pictures in the next few weeks and sending those over as well I'm going to leave this one to the pros.

That was easy.

I know of a stream in and about the alliston area that salmon and trout come to spawn in. It is only about 6 ft wide at times. It is completely blocked with driftwood and fallen trees in a few points. Does this affect the fish? Some seem to get through but when I say blocked its really blocked. I could get the land owners permission to clean it up but I'm sure there are laws about this stuff. I's there a group I Could get I contact with to organize a stream cleanup/restoration next summer or am I worried for nothing?

Hopefully mine will look half that nice come spring.

I bet the lakers would come from miles to inspect.

I felt bad too. Just bonk him and take him home.

My first sled was a 86 bravo, was not a long track but that thing was indestructible . Zero mantinance and beat up by me and my cousins for 20 years would start 3rd pull every morning. the perfect ice fishing sled.

Just tuned up the old sled last weekend, plugs, carbs, belt, new helix seccondary spring and a little more weight in the primarys( I'm pretty sure I have the fastest hut pulling sled on the lake
) any takers?

Just checked marine weather it's in feet. Still impressive

Great write up thanks for the story. The. Swamp donkey comment made me laugh for ten min.

That's why I liked the idea of tags. You can have a few good fish frys a year but you can't kill 150 fish 50 times a year.
-
I like the tag idea. I dunno max 50 sport fish, 500 pan fish/perch . Most fisherman would not take their fifty a year. But it would cut down on the people who take 1000's a year.
-
Nice fish. I'd take a picture you'd probably need to beach him anyways to get him to settle down to get the hook out. I saw a school swim by the park in oakvilllle when a was about six that's the closest I have bin to one.

Just took the reel apart looks like I over oiled it yesterday. I cleaned it up and blew excess oil out of bearings with compressed air and it works fine now doh.

Tha top two if they had good compression and crank seals would run forever. Just clean the carbs every year like any two stroke or your asking for trouble. As for the third one it would run really fast for a while........ Things I always check on a used sled comp., seals, track, rear skid, if those all check out there's not much that can go wrong that 100 bucks a few beers and an evening in the garage with the shop manual can't fix ( same does not apply for newer sleds).......I'm jaded if you have a quad you can only get to where someone else has gone before I wouldn't want to be breaking trail. That's not what ice fishing is about for me I like the solitude.
