Damn Dave! How thick is the ice on your fishing grounds now?
It was 3 feet two weeks ago, the last time I made it out.

Cold?
-17 isn't cold. It's cool. not cold.
My puppy would rather be outside at those temps he wants in at -20 or so.
Cold is what I woke up to on Friday morning.
-40.

They look great buddy, how long are they?
They're about 5 or 6 inches, not giants but I have a couple of big boys hidden away.
-
Dave, I'll leave you a few mid 40's to catch, but I'm putting a 50incher or bigger under my belt this year
After Solo and I sting all the biguns near the camp we will be running the rapid upriver. Try and follow if you dare!!

Whitehorse and parts of Yukon are occasionally subject to warm air blowing in off the Pacific Ocean. Makes for nice temps in the winter.
Yellowknife is in the Arctic weather pattern...if I remember correctly dictated by weather over Siberia..
Da!!! You are correct comrade!!!

It's not a monster, no reason not to BBQ that one.
Now if it was like 30lbs, then I'd have a different opinion.
Exactly, it's only in the 6-8 pound range.
Far from big. I wouldn't keep any fish over 28" and this fish looks to be in that size range.
For instance this guy> Released
These guys> BBQ'd

Yep, that's a perfect BBQing sized laker.

So, what's it take to get a permit?
Can't you just pop into city hall and buy one?
My guess is it's the township trying to put some extra $$$ in the coffers please the locals. So if it's a pay per permit system just buy one and thumb your nose at the locals when you park there.

I'm trying to work out the details still.

Thanks everyone.
I am waiting to hear back from the guy that has the motor and will let y'all know when he will be available. Hopefully this weekend.
So if you can let me know who's available this weekend I'll try and set things up tomorrow.

I'm looking at an OB online and was hoping someone with some mech experience local could check it out for me. Looking to purchase and get it handed over to a friend in the Hammer and I will pick it up in May when I come to Ontario for my trip to Attawapiskat.
The motor is in Whitby.
I still need to contact the seller to see if it's still available but wanted to see if someone would check it out for me.
What says yooze guyz.

I'm interested in doing some ice fishing this winter on the Bay of Quinte and could use some help choosing an outfitter. I'm looking for a good price over a weekend (plus a day or two), good customer service, pros - cons, etc... Any help would be appreciated.
Here's a list you can start with.

I picked one up at an auction in Ontario.
It was pristene. It didn't look like it was ever used and came in the original box with owners manual, spare spool in spare spool container.
Price?
$17.50!!!!!!![w00t.gif](http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/w00t.gif)
I ended up selling it on ebay and it fetched somewhere between $125 and $130 US.![thumbsup_anim.gif](http://www.ofncommunity.com/forums/public/style_emoticons/default/thumbsup_anim.gif)
