  1. hey drifter .... those old obscure 80's tunes bring back some good party memories

I fondly remember the 80's as I did sound and lighting for some of the biggest clubs in souther Ontario back then.

TO had some kick :asshat: clubs back in the day.

If you were into the dance club scene back then these may bring a smile to your face.

  2. -24C here this morning....thats called "making Ice"

Up here that is called the average temp!!! beach.gif

I tend to do most of my ice fishing at -25 and warmer, although I have been out there when it's 10 or 15 degrees colder. Just not as much fun. At -25 the hut door stays open with the heater on 1/2. When it gets colder than that the door closes and the heater gets put on full. I just don't like the lack of air movement to get the CO out of the hut when it's sealed up, even with the door cracked, windows cracked and vent open I still get hedaches due to the CO in the hut. May have something to do with the 14,000 btu heater though. :dunno::dunno:

My first couple of years up here I would just turn my back to the wind and fish in -25 to -30 but the hut and heater deal is much more comfy. :D

Oh yeah, current temp is -31 with little to no wind. :whistling:

  3. My boat is 17'10" with a 90hp Merc and no swing tongue.

I keep it in one of those 10'X20' fabric garages. The motor pushes out the rear wall by about a foot and the tongue sticks out the front by 2 feet. So my setup is about 23'. Yours should be 12 to 18 inches longer all together so probably 24 to 24 1/2 feet total. Not sure how much you cut it down with the tongue folded, maybe 2 feet. I would say you will be in the 22 to 22 1/2' range folded.

  4. http://www.chextv.com/News/LN/11-02-09/Ice_Hut_Accident_On_Chemong_Lake.aspx

Gee, I hit a stationary object that was well marked and exceeding all compliance requirements. It must be someone else's fault. :wallbash:

The ice hut owner should receive damages for his equipment loss.

    Nice!!!!

OHHHH, it wasn't my fault because I was riding too fast & too close to my buddies so I couldn't see through all the snow.

Typical!!! It's not my fault, it's the hut owners fault because the reflectors and lights that by law he didn't have to have were too small. :glare:

    What a knob!!!

The hut owner should be reimbursed for loss by the sledders insurance. IMHO

The sledder needs to take responsibility for his actions. drag.gif

  5. I don't know much about the Solo motors, but I believe they have a primer blub, which is handy. The Tech. doesn't. Obviously, they are more environmentally freindly too. According to the service guy, they start better in the really cold weather.

The one on my Strikemaster does.

Mine starts quite well in the chilly weather we get up here North of 60* too. whistling.gif

  6. A lot of places require ice huts have reflectors.

I didn't know they weren't mandatory in Ontario.

    Maybe they should be. :dunno::dunno:

They require you to register them, how hard would it be to require a 6"X6" relfective square on each corner?

It would save the careless sledder from damaging a hut in the dark. And it would save the ice fisherman from getting run over by the careless sledder. I believe I read about an incident last winter where a sled went right through a hut with 2 fishermen inside. They were badly injured in the accident.

Reflectors just make sense to me. IMHO

  7. Hey all, It's been a while since I've been on here but here I am hoping someone can help me figure this out.

My Xterra has the 7 pin trailer connector and I'm hooking up my 4 pin trailer. I have everything in place, but I'm not getting any left brake or left turn signal.. Everything else works great. I've tried it with my dads truck who has just a 4 pin connector and all the lights work normally.. So I'm thinking it has to be my truck.. but where ?? This is a direct install from Nissan wiring and all.

So where can I look and start to test.. Any help would be very very appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Tiz

Are you using a 7 pin to 4 pin adapter?

Here's a diagram of the 7 pin wiring.

Trouble shooting is as easy as testing the pins with a test light.

  8. Well done buddy! :clapping:

Some decent pike for sure. I bet I know exactly where the motor currently in my basement will be de-virginized.

Actually it will be de-virginized in the little lake I can see from my front deck.

Gotta make sure all is well before heading across Yellowknife Bay and slogging it through the bush. It will be the second place it gets wet.
