They didn't take them to the Gold Range? (local drinking barn of various repute for those unfamiliar) How were they to get the true flavour of Yellowknife? Everybody meets at the Strange Range! It's on wikipedia.
I offered to buy him a pint at The Range but he was on a tight schedule. :rofl2:

Living in a small town has it's advantages. Today was the official welcoming ceremony for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge (AKA Will's & Kate ) and as luck would have it the park is just 2 blocks from my office. So at 9:30 this morning I went to the park to find a good place to do some royal watching.
I found a spot right along the barriers on the way to the street hockey demonstration and new it was perfect for getting some photos and video as the Royals passed on their way to the hockey event area.
I was right and got some great shots and best of all got to talk to Prince William and shake his hand, but I was too busy with the cameras when his lovely bride came by and the security dudes hurried her past as they were getting too far behind the prince. I did get a great shot of her while she was shaking hands with my buddy though.
Enjoy the pics.
Some early area and crowd shots
Some shots of William
And some shots of Kate

The second that motor starts, it needs to come out with force! One of the things I did not like, was that it shot straight down and was difficult to see when operating the boat. I put a 45 degree fitting on mine.
Not necessarily.
It depends on if your engine has a thermostat or not.
The Yamaha I just finished working on for a buddy would have a fairly weak stream for 30 seconds to a minute and when the engine had warmed up enough to open the Tstat it would come out strong enough to drill holes in my driveway.
-
I have not had the hose pressure force water out of the tell tale before.
When I hook up the hose I don't get a stream until I start the engine.
The motor will draw water in while it is stationary. The boat does not need to be in motion.

I know the boaters card sure didn't help the poor sap that tried to out run me by cutting me off and hitting a shoal at 40 mph with his Scarab....
SWEET!!! Did you motor on over there and ?

When I was running my boat out of Pt. Credit I was checked by the Peel Marine Unit dozens of times with never an issue.
Heck at one point I was checked by the same pair of officers 5 days in a row.
You would figure after the first couple of times they would remember me.

Sounds like you had a bit of water in the bottom of the tank.
You will need to clear your fuel hose line and drain your carbs as well as getting rid of the water in the bottom of your tank. You will also need to drain the fuel filter. I have seen this happen many times.
I just finished disassembling/cleaning and reassembling the 4 carbs on my buddies Yamaha yesterday. He didn't bother taking care of the issue in a timely manner and I had a bunch of gelled fuel and some corrosion to deal with.
Make sure in the future that you remember to close the vent on the tank and run fuel stabilizer to prevent this issue in thefuture.
Plus cudos to Elevatorman for bringing you home safe. :clapping:

Great, now people who buzz the shallows and go crazy on Jet Skis can now take their art to a new level and start moving further upstream and into back lakes as well as swamps and marshes.
Try that on a jet ski and you'll just punch a hole in the hull.
The hull on that jet boat is aluminum and 3/8" thick UHMW while the jet ski is 1/4" fiberglass.
The UHMW is practically bulletproof!!!

Yep, they be pretty cool until you get em stuck.
Just make sure you have a portable winch, parachute, hi-lift jack, a couple of soccer or basket balls, come along, a shovel and axe for when it does happen.

You can get replacement keys through the dealer.
Look closely at the switch and take down the numbers stamped on it.
If you're lucky they will be stamped around the front where you insert the key, if not you will need to remove the switch to get the #'s.
Go to the dealer with those #'s and they can get you a replacement key.

Seems they charged the driver with 1st degree murder in this case.
Police charge 15-year-old with murder in officer's death
CTV.ca News Staff
York Regional Police have charged a 15-year-old boy with first-degree murder in connection with the death of Const. Garrett Styles, who was pinned underneath a van during a traffic stop near Newmarket, Ont.
Styles, 32, was killed Tuesday morning after being struck and pinned underneath a minivan containing four youths during a traffic stop at Herald Road and Highway 48 in the town of East Gwillimbury, east of Newmarket.
Police say Styles was standing at the driver-side door when the vehicle accelerated, dragging him into a field before the driver of the van lost control and flipped over.
The unlicensed 15-year-old driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries. He was transferred to Toronto Western Hospital overnight and is said to be suffering injuries to his neck and back.
On Wednesday, York Regional Police announced they had laid a charge of first-degree murder on a 15-year-old from York Region.
"The accused male, the driver of the vehicle involved in the incident, was charged last night in hospital, where he remains with serious injuries," York Regional Police said in a statement.
The boy's name will not be released under the Youth Criminal Justice Act.
He is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Newmarket on July 7.
Officers continued on Wednesday to canvass drivers who might have been on Highway 48, between Davis Drive and Mount Albert Road at the time of the incident.
The stretch of highway where Styles was dragged 300 metres and killed has been opened for the first time since the young constable's death.
Tom Stamatakis, president of the Canadian Police Association, said he and other police officers across the country want someone held accountable for Styles' death.
"The last thing on my mind right now, to be honest, is forgiveness," he told CTV's Canada AM in an interview from Vancouver.
"There has to be real consequences, in the short term at least, to deter this activity."
With an eye to the future, Stamatakis also recommended an inquiry into the reasons why some Canadian youth participate in high-risk activities.
Styles was alone on patrol when he stopped the 2005 Dodge Caravan packed with four teenagers for a traffic check. CTV Toronto has learned that the van had been taken from one of the youths' family home without permission.
Styles was leaning into the cab of the van to turn off the ignition when when the vehicle accelerated and dragged him into a field before flipping over.
While pinned beneath the van, Styles managed to contact police dispatch over his radio and direct emergency crews to his location.
"I've got a van on my waist," Styles can be heard saying in a recording of the call. "It hurts. And, uh, I've got these people inside the van. I don't know how they are doing."
Styles, who would have turned 33 on Sunday, was transported to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries at 6:10 a.m.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa, a civilian employee of the York Regional Police Service, and two small children, a two-year-old girl and nine-week-old boy.
The three minivan passengers, also from York region, are reportedly co-operating with police.
Styles is the 10th York region police officer to die on the job.
Police have also set up a book of condolences for Styles, which will be available for signing until his funeral when the book will be given to constable Styles' family.
The book was made available for signing on Wednesday morning in the lobby of the central police station at 155 King William Street in Hamilton.
There's been an outpouring of support for Styles from politicians and other community members. Premier Dalton McGuinty and Former OPP commissioner Julian Fantino are among many mourners offering condolences to the young officer's family.
Anyone who'd also like to leave their condolences can do so online at a CTVToronto.ca page set up for Const. Styles.
An exciting day in Yellowknife

I wasn't worried as I met his boss on Monday and we got along great.
Besides his boss owes me one. I saved him from some embarrassment due to a wardrobe malfunction. :rofl2:
