    HAHAHAHAHA

I just put the toon away this morning, brought out the ice gear. Flipped the hut open to wax the poles. I started day dreaming. Oh and put 300 lbs in the back of the truck box for weight.

Plenty of river stuff to do til then. I have another 9 day adventure planned in 2 weeks.:Gonefishing:

    Then it,s whitiefest. :good:

I finally put the boat away, pulled out the sled and gassed up the snowblower this morning.  :)

I could be wrong but in an interview last week when Babcock was asked about the zero retaliation from his team after the high hit on Matthews he said "who's gonna do it??"  It really seemed like he was throwing at Dubas' feet with that comment. This is  why I don't really believe this is 100% a Babcock issue.

    You're not wrong.

    I posted this last Sunday.

When it comes to Aluminum, this man knows of what he speaks! I would listen to him!

I bought an Alumacraft Escape 165 Tiller in 2017 with a 40 HP Yamaha. I have been really pleased with it and when I went deep into it to run cables and wiring I was totally impressed with the construction of it.

I would think Crestliner and Lund are also very good names. I personally would stay away from a lot of other welded hulls for the reasons Wayne mentions. This is my third aluminum boat, all riveted hulls and never had a leak.

I was super impressed with my Fisher early on.

A few years after I got it I wanted to paint and re carpet it to match my truck. :)

When I dove into the job I was surprised to find the floor and all the stringers were aluminium.

The only wood on the entire boat was the core of the transom and 2 pieces of teak trim one to mount the TM on and one at the stern of the boat.

As I had it completely stripped I could see how well it was put together as well.

Thank you guys so much. I think will do fogging next winter if it really helps in my case.

On the other note the motor was not used for couple months, staying dry since late spring.
Would you guys still recommend run the motor on gas with fuel stabilizer? There should not be any moisture left.

The stabilizing keeps varnish from forming and plugging up the small venturis in your carbs or fuel injectors.

Did you use epoxied marine plywood Dave?  Probably the cheapest way to do it.

Yes I did Bill. The expensive part was having new gussets made as well as a stiffening plate to bolster the transom as I had to cut the top off in order to remove the wood. The gussets failed after years of torque and vibration metal fatigued the ears that bolted to the transom and the transom started to sag away from the boat. I had them made of stainless as it's much stronger. I had a 1/4" plate that sits between the gussets and transom and wraps over the top. All sealed with liquid urethane and 3M 4200.

  6. I run stabilizer all year long.

In the fall, I check the lower unit oil, replace engine oil and filter and remove the spark plugs and spray a bit of fogging fluid in each hole.

Turn the engine over with plugs removed to spread the fogging fluid around and put the plugs back in.

Put the cover on and fire up the snowmobile!!!! :)

great scenery in your photos, and i bet that ( little pike ) fed the 3 of you's a great dinner ?

Wasn't me or mine. Clipped it from the paper when it was posted.

I wouldn't eat the fish out of this lake as they are very wormy.

There is a power plant on the lake and the water temps are warmer than other lakes around because of it.

The warm water grows fish fast but wormy.

So I was out to my local dealer. Had a look at the new smoker crafts. Man are they ever nice . I hear what a few of you have said about buying used.  It seems as though the banks only want to finance a new boat. I still want to go check out the crestliner and alumna crafts. Who sells them in the hamilton brantford area?

Proctor marine sells both so head on down to Simcoe. :)

  9. I bought my boat from Legend back in 1991.

The hull is a Fisher on my particular boat and has been a good boat over the years.

I did upgrade the motor when I purchased it and back in 2013 upgraded to a bigger 4 stroke.

If I had to buy a new boat today to replace it I would most likely get a Crestliner.

If I was looking for an upgrade from what I have I would likely get a Kingfisher with hard top. :)

But I haven't won the lottery yet soooooooooooo................................................................  :(

  10. I totally suck at caulking too.

Am in the middle of caulking the exterior of my cabin I'm building.

Tried freehand high up on the back wall and instantly gave up.

Now I use tape!!! Lots and lots of tape to frame my bead.

Takes a lot more time but my beads are looking mint now.
