  1. A friend once left a bottle of Jack in his car and it turned into a slushie. Terry, plenty of homeless here. They are just tougher than the softies in TO!!
  2. Unlike back East they don't issue a cold weather warning @ -15C. If they did we would be under one from October to April!!! They wait for it to get a little colder here in the North country before one is issued. OK, a lot colder!!! Like 35* colder!!! They don't issue one until it hits -50C ambient or windchill. So if you think it's cold there, it really isn't.
  3. That motor doesn't have an alternator. The problem is either the voltage regulator or stator assy. Best approach if you don't have a factory service manual is to have a mech diagnose the issue. Unfortunately I sold my '91 Merc 90hp last year along with the factory service manual otherwise I could have copied and sent you the diagnostic steps to test out your components. As for basic tools, yes and no depending on the issue. For testing you just need a volt/ohm meter. If you have to replace the stator you will need a puller to remove the fly wheel. That is the only specialized tool you will need.
  4. Yep, a lot easier to recover than from 200' down.
  5. Came across this today and it would make a great addition to your sled or quad to keep you safe during your ice fishing trips. http://nebulusflotation.com/ http://fishing.scout.com/story/1507268-if-you-go-through-the-ice?s=197&utm_source=SocialMedia&utm_medium=HootSuitePost&utm_campaign=HootSuite
  6. Seems like the big sell off starts on Thursday at Target for those of you interested. No store here so it ain't gonna help me any. http://www.blogto.com/fashion_style/2015/02/leaked_info_says_target_will_start_liquidation_thursday/?sc_ref=facebook
  7. If you don't want to die up here you have a winter survival kit in your vehicle. I have tow straps, tools, clothing, fire starting devices etc. When on long trips in the winter in desolate places I carry food, drink, sleeping bag etc. Everything needed to survive in an Arctic winter.
  8. WOOHOO!!!! One step closer to winning the Connor McDavid lottery!!!!!!!!
  9. Nice!!! I can't even remember what it was like before I got my sled. Couldn't imagine ice fishing without it.
  10. 'Cause ya don't get blitzes like this in freshwater!!! Bass and eyes don't pull like this Shore fishing isn't this extreme
  11. This one just popped up on my Facebook feed. Retirement can't come soon enough. This is where I will call home in my work free years. I gotta get me a drone too. http://vimeo.com/116831579
  12. No need to watch a boring football game to see them. There's some good ones in here. Love the Mercedes one. The Kia one is good too. http://www2.tsn.ca/bardown/Story.aspx?The%2Bbest%2BSuper%2BBowl%2Bads...so%2Bfar&id=492274
  13. Back in the mid 80's I had a 1971 Torino GT that I bought and was fixing up. I got the new engine in and got it all certified, plated and insured and hit the road for my first cruise in the new jalopy. I was cruising the Lakeshore in Mississauga when I spot red lights in the rear view. @#$!!@$%^^^&&%!!!! I pull over by the Satellite drive in and get all my paperwork ready. The officer walks up to my window and I asked the officer what I had done wrong? I said I know I wasn't speeding and didn't run any lights. He said you did nothing wrong, I just wanted to check out your ride, It's Sweet!!!!! We spent about 15 mins shooting the breeze and talking cars before getting on our way.
  14. This looks like a blast!!! Well unless you're that guy.
  15. DAYUM!!!! Them Ausies will take their trucks through anything.
