  1. welcome to the board

axes are too labour intensified :o so i use a chainsaw nowadays ;) ....thanks to the UMU ( Underground Murderers Union ) Local 666

    Good Luck ( getting away)

I'll take my ruddy great axe over my chainsaw any day. Welcome to the demented zone

The harbour can have some interesting fishing.

  2. Well, here I sit in an empty house. Anna is away for 6-8 weeks of treatment, the wife is also in hospital, and the son has moved out. Just me and the fish theiving dogs left. Oh Well :(

    Life goes on.

Time to do some cooking. First we start with 15lbs of secret mixed ground (have to do something with the roadkill :P )

Then add eggs, bread crumbs and seasonings. Roll into balls and flour.

To establish a good rythm one needs some good down home music and copious amounts of wine.

    Pan brown

Then toss in a roast pan with more copious amounts of white wine to simmer for 2 hours.

Result, 600 Swedish meatballs and one slightly preserved cook

  3. Hi guys,

Heading up to Gloucester pool next week...hope to land some walleye..any pointers for that body of water? Promise to file a report if successful!

    Thanks Skdds

We used to fish at the base of White's Falls decades back, but there are far too many swimmers there now to fish that spot. Just have to search for the ledges and weed humps along the west shore.

  4.

Ignore the 30 seconds of rambling from the fiddler.

Just close yer eyes and think back to them simple days of CBC on the black and white, and the sweet smell of home cooking wafting from the kitchen as the lasts moments of the show were played on the fiddle and the ladies twirled. Brought a tear just to hear that old waltz and the images it conjures up.. First time I finally found it.

    Anybody here remember the show?

  5. Local fish are a regular part of the diet, and yes, I do "try" to stay within the MOE guideline.

Some tough decisions to make. Heavy metals in northern fish. Industrial chemicals in southern fish. Hormones and steroids in the chicken. Salmonella in the veggies, tainted beef, or e coli in the drinking water.

If we listen to all the fearmongers, we should all go back to subsistence farming or starving to death. ( We do grow and process a lot of what we eat)

  6. I've been fishing there for about 20 years. Gotta cottage there.

There's a good mix of fish. Rarly get skunked.

I hate using my depth finder on the lake, cuz I mark so many deep water fish, and can never seem to catch them!

I grew up there, and the holes I fished 30 and 40 years back still produce.

  7. It's a big lake. Lots of arms, bays etc... Don't bother on a weekend. Noise and boat traffic is plain stupid, but Tuesday to Friday....

Fishing has improved greatly in 25 years. The farther from the park, the better the fishing gets. Great bass and pike action.

  8. your lucky to have her interested in fishing still.........thats awesome

what exactly are you trying to achieve with that water bottle in the backround of your largemouth picture LOL

Wishin your daughter luck on her medical procedure. Hope all goes well

The water bottle is just part of the debris left behind by weekend warriors every weekend.

  9. Before my Anna goes away for more medical treatment, she wanted to share some fishing time. So off to the local pond this morning. A lot of panfish biting to keep her busy.

I'm glad we had the time together. House will be kinda empty without her home. :(
