Some of the best anglers I know that fish those ditches use spinning reels. Really makes no difference in that water.

14llb braid would be a joke for muskie fishing. Do yourself and the fish a favour and use 65lb at least. Besides, one birdsnest with the 14lb and say goodbye to your expensive muskie lures.
