Remember that when camping in a provincial park, whether backcountry or campground, wood is always and issue. You're not allowed to cut and vegetation, be it standing or not. I personally prefer winter camping on crown land away from the crowds where you're able to do your thing.
It really depends on where you live and how far you're willing to go. Do you want backcountry or stick to X-country trails? Snowshoeing or Skiing? Solo or multiple people in your party. All things to consider. in my opinion, winter's the best time of year to get away. PM me if you want for any suggestions.
