  1. Guys I don;t understand why so late for you...I've sent the documents for my wife's and my son's passports on Jan 16 and got them back on the 7 of Feb. I went in person to the Mississauga office. A bil longer then usual but about 20 days before they travel to Europe. There is a trick to get to live operator - do not press the button to check status but go for "quaetions about your application" The person who answers can get you all the info. Hope this helps Nemo and th rest of you still waiting... Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  2. Well...tired again from hard walking, but happy to have something good to report...started early at 35' and kept drilling all the way up to 100'./...got a perch in 40' and kept moving deeper...around 10:30 first laker... A bit later decided to drop a minnow line....the moment it got down bam...fish on...lost shortly after... 30min later a bigger laker...in the blowing snow with screen and hole full of snow...couldn;t see when the fish got close to the ice...hit the ice and run away...ticked off big time... 30 min later...nice herring...down the hole it goes... then one more hit and fish on...lost again... All my fish caught on Rapala B/W in 100 fow. Buddy of mine got one whitie on Williams and I saw two more whities on the ice today. Slush everywhere...deep slush...ATV's barely going...very hard walk though shorter this time... Anyhow...is was a while since I had laker for dinner so it was good...but could have been better... Cheers, Ice Fisherman

  4. Decided to try to find the whities and lakers tomorrow on Simcoe. They seem to be moving a lot lately...just when I find them...few days later they are gone... Will try few spots I did well last year. Hope to get lucky ;-) I know it is last minute thing but if anyone wants to come alone and share the gas PM me with your number and I'll call you to chat where to meet. Preferably from the west as I live west of GTA. Cheers, Ice Fisherman

Chevy, ha ha....my cell phone has zoom but didn't think to use it....should correct myself next time ;-) Sorry we didn't get together today but we'll do it very soon I am sure. Good luck together with your brother. I told the whities to wait for you Bud ;-) Mike, ha ha....you got it ...cold was non issue today for us...overheating was...expeacially on the way out...going back was better because it was against the wind cooling me off.... Clampet, got swety at times but didn't take anything off as I had no way to carry it. And yes my GPS showed more then 3km one way...so more then 6 round trip...I'd like to think I am in good shape but not as good as I used to be...time to seriously think about a snow machine soon ;-) Cheers, Ice Fisherman

Beautiful nice and white though... Must get myself snowmobile soon...getting old for those 6-7km/day walking trips loaded with full gear and in foot of snow. Few pictures for your viewing pleasure... Took them with my cell phone so not the best quality but you can get the idea Thanks for the great company Husky and JJ.
  9. Lady, I hope the Big guy was not facing you when cursing with mouthb full ha ha ;-)) Nice picture and yesterday (and today) are few of those days you have to have a hut to enjoy good fishing on the ice. Since I don't have one....I'll be waiting for those winds to calm down a bit. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  10. Using Pinnacle studio 10 and am very happy with it. Does tons of stuff and very well too. Cheers, Ice Fisherman

  12. Well, After a long, behind the scene deals/fights between the owners, while allowing RSB on the scene, to play his own games of censorship and control freak (deleting/banning lots of old FLS members) the expected/predicted happened. The board is down and who knows for how long after the developments from last night. It's been said, there maybe be a new board and SOME members MAY follow there...but I wouldn't bet on this for as long as the same moderator style and unlimited control is allowed. Total net dictatorship was taking place there in recent months. People were deleted and banned left/right and centre for no reason, without giving them a chance to defend themselves. One message board is only as good as its members and is not worth anything without them. Tents of regular, old time members were kicked of the board, or made to leave by RSB. He was told this type of behaviour (and not only) will slowly, but surely take the board down the drain. I guess it just did.... Too bad though ... it was good board for many years, but lately was mismanaged and miss-moderated big time...It became an arena for the moderator to prove himself in life and dictate everyone else with different opinion what is black/white. The owners looked the other way and allowed uncontrolled moderator power and abuse against others. As long as the RSB is not allowed control of the new board and kept away and his moderator style is not duplicated, the new board might have a fair chance...otherwise...oh well....nature never keeps things in vacuum...something else will take its place. P.S. You know the golden rule for sports referees – the least the public notices them, the better they have done their job. Likewise with the moderators. Unfortunately it was not the case with the FLS board where RSB was playing THE KING and KINGMAKER. Now you see the results. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  13. Hey Chuck, keep me a spot next to your whole would you? What do you think sometime during this week or next weekend? I am sure those whities are waiting for us Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  14. Well, having no ice anywhere around, Big Chevy and me have not had any other choice but to go....boat fishing in January : I've promissed the Big guy this trip since last summer and what better timing then today. Started bright and early launching from Lake Simcoe marina. If someone tells you the weather man knows what he is talking about don't believe it. AGAIN....he was not even close...he called for temperature of -9 and winds of 10-15 km/h. Reality was -3 and over 20 km/h huge waves and white caps with bad NE wind. Took us a while to find the whities. In the meantime we did get to fight the waves big time...over...under...in...got all wet...I got water all the way down in to my pants dripping from the top of my Nautilus...my hat became one piece with my glasses...and Chuck's hair and beard were ready for a movie shot ;-)) Checked deep and shallow...and deep again...nothing until 9am or so... Then we went back to the starting block...and FOUND them ;-) For the next hour and 1/2 Non-stop action....hooked 8...got in the boat 4 of them and had number of hits. Williams half/half hummered was the best today but got some on jigs and Neils Master. Chevy was trying to break the record for most hooked and lost fish and got pretty closed to it ha ha....We both got out limits easily and so did 6 other boats nearby. Then after 11am fish disapeared. Searched for them for while tried 15 min of perch fishing and called the day. Fish is still quite deep (75'-80'). It was hard to anchor, good thing Chevy had extra 100' rope. Even though we both got cold and wet there were plenty of laughs and jokes. Great day after all and if ice doesn't come soon I am keeping the boat ready just in case. Boat got solid 1" ice cover all over and the carpet inside is ready for "Hockey Night in Canada" game ;-) Ice everywhere...will take till spring to melt 8) ;D Here are few pictures I did. Those done at the lake were taken with my cell phone camera so excuse the quality. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  15. Terry, nice pictures and report. I hear fish are in 70-80 fow. It will not be easy to ancor in such dept for me as I only have 100' ot rope. May have to get some extra tomorrow. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  16. Chuck, you've got PM. And Brian, thank you hope we can cind Mr. Whitie next week ;-) Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  17. iceguy, Great picture. Thanks for posting it. What dept did you find the whities this time of the season? Where did you launch from? I am thinking of doing a trip myself next week but will need to find a partner in the emantime as well. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  18. My aluminum trolling plate has small cracks on each corner and I'd like to weld it to prevent further damage. Anyone can recommend a place west of GTA that can do that? Brampton/Mississauga/Oakville/Burlington/Milton.... Thanks. Ice Fisherman
  19. Wayne, thanks for the nice pictures. Don't even remember when you did the one on the futon. Have to show the cottage picture to my wife tonight. It was great time together and for sure great memories for many years to come. Thank you. Ice Fisherman
  20. Clampet, we were actually doing 4 lines (east of the ferry). Two with planner boards and two flat lines. Flat lines were over 200'+ back and boards were 185' from the board to the lure and 100' from the boat to the board. We were marking fish all over the water column but the ones 25-30' deep were the actively feeding ones. Hope this helps. Cheers, Ice Fisherman
  21. Joey, pleasure meeting you and thanks for the good series of pictures. You've done great job with the camera and accounting for all OFC members. I would have missed some, so I am glad I left that part to you Cheers and hope to see you again soon. Ice Fisherman
  22. OK Guys, I see others have already reported their results, so let me do mine. Started last Friday with terrible weather and gusty winds/rain mixture. Not very pleasant and tough to fish. Came empty handed after 3 hours of trying hard. Speaking of what a difference a day makes. Saturday was as calm as BOQ gets - about 10km/h and walleye were hungry. Started early fished for most of the day and our boat did good. One came in the boat. One was released at the boat. And two more were hooked and lost before getting to the boat. Day was full of excitement and laugh. Decided to give it an other try bright and early on Sunday for just few hours before heading back home. Doug decided to rewind a bit, sleep later and chat with good old friends at the cottage, so I went alone. Started fishing about 7:15. 30min later had my first for the day. Two hours later got one more. By then it was time to head back and start packing. All my fish were caught on Rapala (glass clown) and bleeding tiger. Sizes were: 2 x 29" and 1 x 30". Doug's fish was considerably bigger, maybe 30+"... Sorry Sam, I gave my best shot to the lures I bought from you (Mann's Doctor - Death and Blueberry muffin and Reef Runners - Cheap Sunglasses and Errie Descent) but could not get even a sniff on them. On the other side Rapalas were kicking ass big time. Fish caught were about 30' deep in 50-75 few. Trollong at 1.6-1.7 mph. Combination of planner boards and flat lines. It was nice meeting tons of OFC guys. Great memories for ever. I'd like to thank Wayne for letting me stay at his cottage and Dan and Terry for the company. Doug, it was pleasure as always. I may miss some names so I won't mention the other 10-15 people I've met with at the cottages. Here are few pictures. Cheers and see you next year same place. Ice Fisherman
  23. OK, I am here as well....and in few hours on the way to the BOQ....time has come ;-) Cheers, Ice Fisherman
