  1. If the fish is hooked on the inside of the mouth, I don't see a problem with it! ... and yes, fishing with marshmallows in a "no bait" zone will get you cited. I don't blame ya though, I'd be pretty whizzed off too if I spent all that money on equipment and then found out I could catch them on a $1 bag of marshmallows!!! Actually they are 3 for a dollar at Dollarama...lol
  2. I kept a few in my tackle box cause my buddy told me about it. Ran out of worms so I tried it. One on a orange one and one on a lime green one. P.S. Chub love mallows.
  3. I know the diff. between Johnson 9.9 and 15 is the carb.
  4. Waiting to find a free one haha. No, I can't afford one right now. Saving for a house and waiting for my house to sell in Newfoundland. The little money I have will go into fixing up the boat right now.
  5. HAHA! No the guy bought this boat just for the trailer. So now it sits in hid driveway with no trailer or motor. She's a fixer- upper. I just need to get her home.
  6. The steelies i caught were with the mallow floating on the surface. They came up to get it.
  7. Hey guys. My wife volunteered me to cut down some trees at her mothers on Saturday so I'll only be available on Friday or Sunday.
  8. Anyone got a trailer I can borrow for an evening to get the boat home? It's a 15' fibreglass (not a car topper). I live in Erin and the boat is in Toronto (Dixon/401) Thanks Curt
  9. Hey guys. Looking for a buddy for the weekend. New to river fishing here. I live in Erin (20 min East of Guelph). I don't know many areas and if someone wouldn't mind teaching me a few things would be appreciated. I can drive and pick you up. I'm off Fri, Sat, Sun so either day would be good. Thanks guys, Curt
  10. I caught a few speckles on orange marshmallows on Saturday. Found an old bag of mixed color mallows in the cuppboard. A guy at work caught a 32lb salmon in Port Credit on a white mallow last year.
  11. I bought a 2007 Santafe for the wife in August 2006. Haven't had anything but GREAT things to say about it. Great on gas. Tows extremely well (towed a 5x8 foot u-haul...loaded...from Newfoundland to Ontario where even my wife didn't mind driving with it in tow). 5 year 100,000 km bumper to bumper warranty. I got the GL base model, still comes with ESC, traction control, pw, pl, pm, heated mirrors, CD/mp3, A/C, tilt, cruise, curtain airbags, abundance of DC outputs, tons of storage space, roof rack..... and I am a GM guy at heart (I'd never buy a foriegn truck.) And we get nothing but the greatest of service at Orangeville Hyundai even though we did not buy from them (car is a Newfie). I'd recommend it to anyone, in fact my mother in law, my sister in law and my cousin are all after buying one since I told them about it. Good luck car shopping. I know I stressed for a long time before I settled on one.
  12. I'm planning on going to Dunnville soon for my first try at the cats. What's the difference in Cats and bullheads?
  13. It's just me that's too strong. I don't want to break line when i set the hook...lol. Thanks for the help guys.
  14. I got a GMC 1500 and replaced all discs and pads last year for 300 bucks...nothing to it. Ford should be relatively the same.
  15. I decided not to go with the spiderwire and bought Power Pro 40lb instead. Is this too heavy?
  16. Do you guys still use leaders with these lines? If so what type? Is it better to go wire or mono or flouro?
  17. Anyone using this line? Any comments would be appreceiated. I was thinking of buying some 30lb at CT for my pike rod. http://www.canadiantire.ca/browse/product_...fromSearch=true
  18. A keen lad applied for a salesman's job at a city department store. The store was the biggest in the world and sold everything under the sun. "Have you ever been a salesman before?" the boss asked during his interview. "Yes, I was a salesman in Texas," the lad answered. The boss took an immediate liking to him and told him he could start the next day. "I'll come and see how you made out after we close up," the boss said. The day was long and hard for the young man, but finally it was 5 o'clock. The boss closed up the store and found the lad sitting, slumped and exhausted, in a chair. "How many sales did you make today?" the boss asked. "One," said the lad. "One?" said the boss, obviously displeased. "Most of the sales people on my staff make 20 or 30 sales a day. How much was the sale worth?" "Exactly $101,334.53," said the young man. "How did you manage that?" asked the boss, flabbergasted. "Well," said the lad, "this man came in and I sold him a small fish hook, then a medium fish hook, and finally a really large hook. Then I sold him a small fishing line, a medium one, and huge one. I asked him where he was going fishing, and he said he was going down the coast. I said he'd probably need a boat, so I took him down to the boat department and sold him that fancy 22-foot Chris Craft with twin engines. Then he said his Honda Civic probably wouldn't be able to handle the load, so I took him to the vehicle department and sold him a new GMC 1-ton pickup truck." "You sold all that to guy who came in for a fish hook?" the boss asked in astonishment. "He didn't come in to buy a fish hook," the Texas boy explained. "He came in to buy a box of tampons for his wife, and I said to him, 'Your weekend's shot. You might as well go fishing.' "
