hi icefisherman...if your looking for a nice place to swim i would head up to ferguson bay..there is a natural white sand beach there in the shape of a horse shoe..you will find some people will have there house boats anchored there....the water is nice and warm there...if your looking for islands there are many to choose from...in august i would stay close to the main lake..that way you have a good chance of catching fish....the walleye will feed at night on some shelfs usually 20 feet of water...and if you wanna jig some lake trout you can do this all over the lake and really fun to catch this way...rob

hi i just came back from rice lake....i like to fish 8-15 feet of water at this time of year.....i like to use black bucktail jig and and a small worm...i also like to use a worm harness blue and siver with 2 hooks ...i use the worm harness when there is a nice drift ....i like to fish off bewdly side of lake this is where the deepest part of the lake is and great weed bed areas...just drive straight from the boat rental place and you will see the fishermen fishing the weed lines next to deeper water..since you dont have a soanar you can start there,

hey johnny well if u want minnows just find a beaver dam that is alive...green branches will tell u if it is a used beaver dam..then with a 4 inch by 4 inch minnow net and a piece of bread...you can catch all the minnows you need....nice size too.....im in temagami in 2 weeks cant wait...acually less than 2 weeks...were you staying in temagami johnny...im at temagami lodge and have been there for about 12 years..

hi guys me myself i prefer minnows and crawlers in the spring summer and winter.....i find leeches in cold water roll up into a lilltle ball with little action....minnows seem to be the best producer with a worm being a close second for me...i find the presentation (movement) and color of jig being used is even more impotant...those walleye cant resist that up and down motion...

wayne i was reading that listerine...yup listerine is the best thing to keep black flies and skeeters away...they say use just plain listerine and you will have no black flies or skeeetos...he says he wipes down his boat dash and even in the cottage ...tables and chairs says its the best thing ever just make sure you buy original listerine...im gonna try it this year...they say that other bug spray is so bad for you..that its better to get bit then use it....what do u have to loose

]ok whats your favorite time of year for temagami and why...is it the views of falling leaves and different colors, blue sunny sky's, the fishing or just simply the weather...for me it used to spring but over the years i have really fallen for the winter and ice fishing...it slowly became my favorite time of year...
