  1. I had some luck on the weekend with a chartruese mini-tube but only used it for a short period of time then stuck with small plain hooks with minnows. Also, when the bite was hot in the afternoon had some luck with white Berkely Gulp waxies on my upper hook which was only maybe 18" off bottom and about 9 inches higher than my bottom hook. Again, didn't use a lot since they were pounding the minnows but, if I had more time to experiment, would try that again. Greg
  2. Nice fish, thx for the report Greg
  3. Beauty Lund, can't beat it. I got a 1625 w/40 merc two yrs back and really enjoy it. Tons of room and very stable, even fished four guys out of it this year with no problems. Enjoy Greg
  4. I give my vote to Lady Evelyn. Had some of the best Walleye fishin of my life up there and it has a good up-north-away-from-it-all feel to it. Greg
  5. nice fish, thx for sharing. saw a vex in action this week a great tool, gonna save my pennies. Greg
  6. nice catch and vid. and no hut...thats hardcore- for the cameraperson!
  7. Headed up to Simcoe last week for some perch. It was my first trip up there but I had the benefit of going with some experienced anglers who had been before so I was dreaming of some biguns...and wasn't dissappointed. Fished all day with 3 others on Thursday and Friday from about 8:30-4:00. The bite seemed to be hot from 9-11 and 2-4 each day, not sure if that is coincidence or what but when it was hot it was great, couldn't get the line back in fast enough and also got plenty of double headers. We were in 20 FOW and fishing right on the bottom. Nothing exceptional as far as jumbos are concerned but definitely what I consider a great outing. Also, on Friday in particular, we noticed a school (about 6 at a time) of another species roaming around just as far as we could see at about 17 FOW. We figured they were whitefish? Any other guesses? Anyway, couldn't get em to hit, though one did attack my split shots. Here are some pics Double header... The biggest we got- 12.5" fatty Thursday's reward... Friday's reward... My future perch slayer... Finally, dinner (what a job it is cleaning those after being stuck in toronto traffic after a day on the ice- but well worth it!) Greg
  8. Just want to say hi to all, been checking out for a couple weeks but have yet to post. I fish as much as I can which is not as much as I want of course...when I get out Walleye is usually prime target but I also enjoy LMB, SMB and Pike from time to time and perch on the ice (report to come). Looking to explore other species as well, such as musky, lakers and whitefish and hope to learn more from the people here. Here are a few pics from last year... Week in Nippissing in early June. It rained like I have never seen it rain before. I am actually happy with these eyes but too cold and soggy to smile! also, had to put 'em back due to the slot...not to complain since they might not be there without. anyway, the best morning we had we got 10 around this size off a nice nice shoal over about 5 or 6 hours. And, my PB 7.2 lb walleye, caught in BoQ in late sept casting my trustee canadian wiggler into some thick weeds...not much of fish for quinte but i have never been out there and never caught one this size. Cheers, Greg
