  1. Not aware of any slips in that specific area but Sean Degagne's (sp) ramp at Idle Time is close and I can only assume he lets people use it. You can also use the public ramp at the end of Birchgrove, but I have no idea what state it's in since I've only used it in the winter.

  2. Up on the northern Ottawa where I am we fish faster water sections and look for current breaks and eddies and vertical jig or short cast with minnows or paddletail type plastics. Any fair size river mouth will also bring in fish intermittently throughout the day. We typically catch them all day up here, never really focused on an evening bite

  3. Sometimes I like living next to the Ottawa river...actually scratch that I always love living next to the Oft riv. Had a couple hours free Friday evening so after a quick atv ride to the local creek to empty my minnow trap. I hit a local shore spot. I can almost always depend on a handful of small keepers from this spot so I was super surprised to lay into this 23" fatty. Normally I don't keep em this big but she made for an excellent breakfast :)

And I spent the last two days at my girlfriends familys hunt camp 60 + km's into one of the local ZEC's. saturday was spent cutting trails and laying gravel on the atv's but we snuck out early this morning to a lake trout lake known for big numbers of smaller fish. It didnt disappoint and in short order we had a stringer full of these tasty little guys. What they lack in size they make up for in flavour :) we took them on gangtroll/williams rigs pulled behind bells and dipsys.

The wheels. Had to use the winch to pull the rickety old tank of a boat out of the water

Many more plans for this area :)

  4. I wouldn't be so accusatory...you expect kids (likely without their own vehicle) to be lining up out the door to drive out to the country and work for some guy they don't know for 11 bucks an hour one day a week? It seems as though you have earned some great friends though :)

  5. Fished it a couple times...both times we hit a good schools of big smallmouth and I caught a nice walleye there once too. Focus of the mid lake area around the big island and the river mouth for a good starting point

  6. There is a little shack just as you turn off chemin Kipawa onto Maniwaki where you sign into the ZEC and purchase your pass etc.

ZEC Restigo is the quickest to access, but there's Maganisipi and Kipawa as well. They're all big and filled with lakes with amazing fishing potential
