The amount of mineral extraction neccesary to bring something like that to fruition on a large scale would likely negate any positive environmental effects lol. There seems to be a lot of research going into trying to find different substances to make them more efficient though. Very cool idea, though.

Our grocery store here in Temiscaming has been closed down for approx a year and a half now and our new store wont be open this summer so don't count on that!
The independent in North bay is in Northgate mall right on the corner of 17 and 63, which would be very convinient for you

Thawing out in milk, yes. I would stick to freezing in water

Man those mirrors are ugly! Amazing fishing though
-
You've got a great spot there! Looks like a small pike-only type lake?
-
Yeah I really like the 7-10 pounders for table fare. I'm going to try pickling some pike meat the next time I take a couple home.

I am happy for you, but also hate you and you ought to be ashamed of yourself

I hope you reported those samsquench tracks!!
-
Post any more photos like that you'll have a list of potential fishing buddies!
Nice gator

Those are pigs!! Nice job boys, but who needs twin-HDS units at the helm? That's just sickening

I eagerly await your contribution to the 'extra cost of fishing' thread! Lol

Glad i don't live anywhere near that stuff. Fishing keeps wallet plenty empty as is

Looks like a special place. Defi itely my favourite part of the province as well. What were you trchnique(s) for dredging up those trout from the bottom?
-
Absolutely horrendous in the bush around here, both blackflies and mosquitos

Awesome! Those big kitty cats are so much fun

I'll be doing an overnighter on a back lake close to Net this weekend so I can let you know what to expect as far as water temps and levels etc.
Generally the lakes right next to the road (like Net) are a tough go, especially during daytime hours, but Mid-June is pretty well prime time so do your blackfly voodoo and capitalize on low light hours (or even after dark)

The Pirahnamax is a really poor unit, but i suppose the price is right. The lowrance x-4 is really reasonably priced and works very well.

Stocking foot with felt soles, and maybe spikes depending on how treacherous of water you fish.
And the shimano sahara is an excellent reel for under 100 bucks

Awesome report and excellent fishing. I'm sure most didn't have them dialed in like you guys given the tough conditions
