  2. has anyone stayed at hidden river lodge on whitefish lake. is it worth the trip or is there a better place in that area
  3. Since I make my own worm harnesses, I generally use 6mm beads with a # 5or6 colorado or willow blade. will a #8mm bead work well with that size blade or should I stick to the 8mm beads when using a #8 blade thanks for your help.

  8. Yep, 11lbs and something, a 21in. smallie will go in the 5 to 6 lb. range. As for a record of 11lb some folks in that neck of the woods sometimes stretch things out a bit just for example, you all is ya alllllll. sorry dog.
  9. Those jigs are called punnishers, but black works good to, popular color is shad.
  10. will be heading to dale hollow or hollar depending on where your from,the first week of april for smallmouth. last year averaged 19 Bull. a day most fish in the 19 to 21 inch class. and most were caught on a small jig with a #12 hook,commonly called float and fly down there.
  11. if your driven to bama, get out some nails and a 2by6, and make a spoiler for that thing, not only will you get better millage but the bama troupers won't pull you over, you be looking like a homie

  14. I tie my own wally harnesses and currently use 20lb. test does any one else who ties their own prefer a different weight line and why. thanks for your help.

I have one that I use for catfishing, to clarify I mean Blue cats and shovel head cats, I purchased it this past year and I have caught anywhere from 55-75 fish over twenty pounds on it , The reel casts great and Ive not had problems when retrieving under a load. The only issue I have with the reel is I like to leave my reels in freel spool as blue cats are very agressive. the record unlike the 6500s and 7000s series has a thumb bar and not a release on the upper side of the reel which you can visulize is in the open position, the record requires a little more attention, You might also want to look at the rocket reel
  16. Awhile back there was a link that you could go to to mark where you were from on a map, how do i get there. Due to cutbacks the light at the end of the tunnel has been turned off.

AS I USE A CAST NET TO CATCH BAIT IN THIS AREA(OHIO) MY MONO CAST NETS GET TRASHED SOMETIMES BY THE ROCKS, DOES ANYONE KNOW OR KNOW WHERE TO FIND A KNOT FOR REPAIRING THE MESH PORTION OF THE NETS. ALSO AS I TIE MY OWN HARNESSES FOR WALLYS, WHATS A GOOD KNOT FOR THE TAG OR LOOP END THANKS AND MERRY CHRISTMAS. ALSO BE AWARE THAT DUE TO RECIENT BUDGET CUTS THE LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL HAS BEEN TURNED OFF.
  18. they also make excellant bait around here for shovelhead cat and blue cat have caught fish in the forty pound range on them

  20. Good thing you fished yesterday glen, if it was today you would be waiting 4 more years to have the same luck you might have had today, go figure
  21. Cleaning is good but sometimes not enough, seasoned wood and burning the unit hot in the morning and at night to keep the buildup from occuring is a good practice, also high sap wood, or softwood,aka pine is also asking for trouble. be safe and glad your neighbor is ok
  22. have plans for our anual Lake erie trip around the islands of the western basin the last week of may and the first week of june. (Special attention Wopper) have spent several hours over the winter making a few dozen of the reliable harnesses we use . If anybody plans on being in the area around then or before let me know.
  23. Heading to dale hollow for the week of April 6th, to do a little smallie fishing., I have fished the waters there several times before but never this early in the year. Any help would be appricated. Connie and Glen come on over or up if you want to.
