  1. I have the same 30 Yamaha 2 stroke on my 14 foot sylvan troller. Fuly loaded with two guys and three batteries, trolling motor and a pile of tackle and food I get up to 42 kph. But it does suck the gas and will only troll down to 2.2 mph.
  2. I Have a few pairs of those clip ons from Shoppers for driving and I find they are weak in bright sun. I'm going to try out a pair of those Cocoons in Amber. Thanks guys
  3. Good stuff. Heading to Lebarons sat I will check them out. THanks
  4. Can anyone recommend a good pair of Polarized glasses you can wear over your regular glasses? I'm in the GTA but willing to travel to get a decent set for the boat. Thanks
  5. Napa has it on sale at 8.99 a can and if you buy two they give you a third for free. This was on monday this week. Great stuff.
  6. Just got back from Moon River. If you go through Moon River Marina off of Healey Lake Rd it's 16 bucks to launch and park. There is a public launch next door that is free but no parking so it's still gonna cost you 16 bucks to park. Just above is Griswalds marina and they have a launch but no idea how much they charge. We got some great 4 lb bass in that area and a few hammer handle pike with one at 8lbs and one a 6lbs. Very nice area up there. Most rocks where marked with jugs or on your navionics map.
  7. I took a look and the batteries are 115 Amp hrs. Sounds good too me.
  8. Porkpie it was the Costco at Woodbine south of Hwy 7. Looked like their regular price. Couldn't believe how cheap they were. And they give you 10 bucks back if you bring them your old one!!! I went to the one at Warden and Ellesmere and they didn't have any deep cycle ones left. Outside the GTA you should be able to find them even easier. I checked the price of Honda sized batteries and they were 80 bucks!!! Waaaaay cheaper then Stealership of Canuck Tire.
  9. Ok I will run to one and switch after charging. Great price on these batteries from Costco. 60 bucks each. If they last two years I will be happy. Thanks guys.
  10. I put two Group 27 Deep Cycle batteries in my tinny for the 48lb trolling motor. I wired the batteries positive to positive and neg to neg using 4awg wire. Now do I run the pos and neg wires for the trolling motor to one battery or use the pos and neg from both batteries? I will be removing the batteries for charging separately. THanks
  11. Mercury has only 7 different keys I was told. Took the key to a dealership and they noted the Letter on the side and gave me that lettered key and it worked fine. Worked for a 1991 Merc 200 hp and a 2006 15 hp kicker.
  12. If you are after trolling motor batteries I got two at Costco. Group 27 Marine Deep Cycle for 59.97 each and they give you back 10 bucks when you bring back the old ones. If they last two years I will be very happy with them.
  13. There is another free launch on River Rd South. Exit Bensford Road and go north to big bend in road and turn to the right at bend. Bottom of hill. Steep Concrete Ramp but lots of on street parking at top of hill. Puts you just below lock 19 and above the 115 Bridge. Watch your speed between highway and lock as it's a 10 kph limit and Cops like to ticket there. Muskie, bass, rock bass, perch, sunfish and pickeral all to be had at various times.
  14. THanks for the tips and help. Trip cancelled now cus they won't give me the time off. Quebec is pricey. Went up there two years ago and it cost a bunch an wasn't worth it. Thanks
  15. Ya only a couple of posts. Mostley a luker on this site but post on other sites. Not looking for your secret spots. Just an idea of where to head to. I've tried Quebec once at one of those lodges and was very disappointed with the lack of fish for such a bad drive in. I have some Zec maps and they list all the launches with camp sites. I guess we will just head up that way. Thanks to those that replied with info.
  16. I'm looking for a place to camp and fish for 9 days starting on Thanksgiving weekend. Drive can be anywhere from 3 to 8 hours away. I heard about Biscotasing and i'm wondering if it's worth the drive? We would like a Crown Land kind of spot to park the truck and camper. I have a genny so don't really need anything else around. Can I just pick most any road up there and find a launch and park? Thanks for any tips.
  17. Sorry wrong place for question will repost on separate thread.
