With the many forest fires burning in Ontario--I'm just thinking of the time we were caught norht of the Albany River caught in a forest fire. We were always told to get in the boat and stay in the middle of the lake and hope it passes through--Hopefully your not on a small Lake. This lake was a good size and seen the Thunderstorm two days prior with the orange glow in the middle of the night getting closer and closer--we grab our personal belongings and into the night filled with smoke and extreme heat from the fire--We were at one time thinking of getting right into the water with our life jackets on--but held off---it was like a freight train coming through and would leave no ground untouched--you couldn't outrun these things and besides the water was safer. So I'm hoping that all outfitters taht have people in there--either get them out or tell them the samr thing---it's not pretty as there's no place to run except one way. A scarey night it was and the next day the ground was scarred except where our cabin was--it seemed it jumped that whole area. But to see and experiance the night glow and how the lighting started the fire two days prior was amazing. Keep SAFE Everyone and keep the boat filled with gas. Its a hot,hot dry season up there and more fires to come. Cheers Bob

We drove out in the morning and condtions were fantastic witha small amount of snow for good traction--walking was good for those who walked---look at my last post for Saturday/Sunday for driving out---you might get out but not in---The ramps are taking a beating and the ice is starting the changing stage--with some mild temps--won't take long to get rotten ice- good luck simcoebob

We started out at 8 am and got limit by 9 :30-----minus -17 this morning and drove to the spot mark with x.....fish were everywhere and my daughters first whitefish with one arm as surgery with pins didn't alow her to reel in --so I told her to back up until the fish come to the top and I then scooped it out for her. Ice conditions were the best I've seen in years this late---However Saturday and Sunday ---you might get out BUT NOT IN.... Good luck everyone and stay safe SIMCOEBOB

I like Chuck's comment--except it don't work. I parked my boat in the driveway for a year in thornhill with great looking planters in it--the ugly neighbor next door called markham and sent me a letter--so i squeezed it in the garage---markham says it 's a sore eye for her and she can't see down the road....OK ..now I have a crapper in the flower garden with flowers in it--markham was called --knocked on the door and they started to smile..I said don't tell me she can't see down the road. they said come on be a good neighbour--ok--she can kiss my red a...However one night the crapper got hammered to death--so now the snowmoblies are in the driveway hooked up to the truck--they couldn't say anything as it was hooked---maybe I have something--no complaints since goodluck....hey maybe you have the same ugly neighbour cheers simcoebob

Take it from me---I was already there. It helps with with my sales postion in getting better--My wife aways hates me for this. But I tell her it's not far away and lets have dinner and then I can have some fun. yes you walk in and they greet you with application form to fill out. of course it's never true what I put down and then your host comes out and you sit for 90min well it was more like 2 hrs. Then a good dinner--they hurry you up. I like sitting in the front so I can show off my tallent so far. the wife just shakes her head and keeps from laughing outloud. You know when the bulls--t starts right away that I have a trip for you...these sales people must go to some ernest angley school--now they don't smack you until the bitter end when you refuse--I like that part--I went through 6 sales people that night and still come home with a trip--oh yea there is a catch there also--the trip is you get there--orlando --you pay the difference per night because you chose in season and of course the taxs--did we forget taxs. Anywasy I come away more smarter again--but time wasted in my wifes view...take it from me--nothing is for free and never will be..just tell them you already won a trip to newzealand and your leaving next week--give it to some other sap. and if your still keen on going send me $10.00 and I will forward our free trip..cheers simcoebob P.S. remember at these events your bulls..t has to be better then theres

I have been several times. Great spot. I would say June or September are the best times. Got a nice 4 1/2 lb small mouth first time there but have pretty much been skunked on bass since. we troll off a pontoon boat for Pike, Lakers and Walleye. Dont know if your trip includes food in the lodge or if you can cook yourself. depends on where you are staying. we always eat in the lodge and suggest you dont miss the sugar pie. Arleen (bob was nice enough to let me use his sign in).

YEA I'M SICK AND TIRED OF THIS WEATHER---the polish isn't working on the boat. I will be glad to cut the grass again

They can KEEP THERE SPORTMENS SHOW---the show should be called sliced and diced.I'm sick and tired of paying there parking prices and outrages admission and now you have to buy food..Is there anything left to buy something for yourself...Now you have to realize that for there vendors they pay extremely high sq foot prices --so hopefully the product can carry the costs..NOT TOO MANY DEALS THERE. The deal is if you want to by some dicers, cheeze cloth can soak up the ocean and wax that you can see your pretty face in..oh yea--deals on rent a couch.IT USE TO BE SO MUCH FUN TO GO ..and see the shows..see fishing equipment..the dogs trials. I told them years ago--don't forget your roots. hell we even use to line up to get in--not any more--I think I will hit the bass pro--listen to some of the vendors and maybe catch a deal or so. AND HEY...It's free... at least when you do go--gas should be available and under a dollar cheers simcoebob
