  1. I need to know how many of you are going to be able to make Thursday night at 8 pm at Cheers Stonechurch and Upper Ottawa. This has been discussed in the "Who's local to Hamilton" thread.
  2. I have arranged a section to be set apart for us with a big screen tv that has satilite. I would like to know how many are coming so that I can confirm with the manager Thanks
  3. But....But...Sprite????!!!
  4. That's not a snot rocket; its a snot expert. Expert = a has-been drip under pressure
  5. Let's see, a less than one year old boat by a well respected manufacturer, ditto for the motor, means in my opinon. that you have nothing to worry about in terms of; is it mechanically sound, will it give me years of service, is it a good unit? As to a 40 horse being too much power for a 16? IMHO I think that it is just about right. Two adults = 300 - 500 lbs of weight. Add gear and motor weight + 350 lbs for a total of 650 - 850 lbs the motor has to push. A car with twice the weight has a motor with 3x the hp and is underpowered in some peoples opinion, and it is pushing on asphalt not water. The price - compare it to the same rig brand new, and you may be surprised. It boils down to whether or not you feel that this is the right boat for you. Buyers remorse is always there, however one must remember that at the time it was the best deal that you could find. If you go ahead with the purchase - enjoy. If not, the hunt continues.
  6. Phew had me worried, I thought you were wondering how to take a leak in waders . Not recommended. John is right on the money, 1 part ivory liquid 10 parts water and air pressure works great.
  7. bump
  8. I'm jealous, congrads on the new ride! If you have any intel on a 16' er pm me with it if you don't mind. BTW I have lots of room for outside storage if you need it. All it will cost you is use of a seat for an afternoon next spring.
  9. I can get a hold of maggots, it's just that they keep getting squished when I put them on the hook.
  10. If you can make it we will see you there, if you can't then perhaps next time.
  11. After much thought ~ 2 secs I have come up with a location.......Drum roll please! Cheers Restaurant & Sports Bars Address : 1405 Upper Ottawa, Hamilton, ON Here is a link to a map: http://canada411.yellowpages.ca/bus/Ontari...ars/351866.html See you next Thursday at 8
  12. I'll have a place picked out this afternoon, and post it then.
  13. When you think of how far you go to go fishing.....Hamilton is small. OK - next Thursday 8 pm at Chaps on Barton. RSVP to me via the board or PM. I will call them and arrange a table for us. Done and settled.
  14. Thanks for the tip about the trailers. I have a mechanic brother coming along with me. I am going there with no intention of buying just to see what is what.
  15. Quick poll - what night is best for a get-together? For me Thursday
  16. Has anyone ever been to one of these auctions? If so, what can I expect? It is being held Oct 27 in Innisfil at Aero Marine Auction Sales Ltd as I understand it.
  17. I was impressed
  18. Ah.....come on, you chicken? Actually I agree
  19. They told them that the trees are like their constituents - kept in the dark and unable to say anything to make changes
  20. I was going to make a t-shirt crack, but the last line in the video is much funnier, "Not intended for use in homes with children" A classic illustration of the difference in Canadian vs American cultures.
  21. Some of the things you can't do without a child (ren) You can't be woken up at 5 am by the shreik of a 2 year old child that has seen a deer in the back yard for the first time. You can't teach him or her how to wire up a string of flouresent lights and switch them on for the first time. You can't hear the excited chatter of "I got a nipple" when fishing. You can't sit back and worry "Did I do that right?" and find out that yes you did cause they called and asked to be picked up 'cause they had a beer and shouldn't drive. You can't watch with pride as your child wears your old jersey on the field with pride and flashes you a smile every time she makes a save. You CAN! have land and build your own place. I did that in the home we have now. The whole family worked together to restore the home we are in now. You CAN! build a house on the water and have a boat. That is my primary motivation for wanting a boat, to share it with my kids. You can not have to slap your dumbass kid in the head at 68 because you raised him or her right and no longer need to correct his or her behaviors. Just my two cents. Uttered in all humility and respect for whatever choices you need to make. Regards.
  22. So....they sell clothing? And what else? I am quite thick, after all I am just a carpenter who likes to fish. I am assuming that it is a tackle store. I just saw the web site ......wow!
  23. What is Le Baron?
  24. For peace of mind and to satisfy your insurance company have a wett certified tech install the liner or chimney. We have been heating with wood for 5 + years and have our chimney checked at the start of each season. The purpose of the insulation is to protect the interior walls from igniting in the event of a chimney fire. If the wett guy says that you should install a new chimney I would suggest that you heed his advice.
  25. And to think you could have gotten a Lab. I am predisposed to Labs. I have 9 at home right now. Actually the dog is kinda cute. I wish you well with it. For learning her I would suggest "clicker" training. I have had great success with that method.
