  1. I have no issues with a discussion on this subject because it is a fact drugs are not the answer and are also out of control everywhere. Please keep the comments factual and not turn into a mud sling about locations and cultures and we are fine.

  2. If you have a motorcycle safety course under your belt they will be more likely to insure and or discount your rates. I just reinsured my 4 bikes with 500,000.00 per incident  liability for 204.00 a year for all of them. This is with 40 years riding and in the USA  so I am not sure we are comparing apples to apples.

  4. Sorry brian but ive been riding for 40 years on bikes that range from 125 to 1200 cc and if you do not have the mind set that everyone is out to kill you then you are not paying enough attention. I feel safer on the race track than on commuter traffic. It has gotten insane with the cell phones and the applying makup and the eating of breakfast in the driver seat. I  love to ride and will not stop till I  can't  but it has gotten way scary compared to the 80s when i first started.

I don't understand the appeal for handheld remote control bowmounts. I find them a total pain in the ass myself. I want my hands to be free, not playing around with a remote.  Lots of options = Lots of problems. I will stick with what I have until it breaks down.  Simple and effective!

I fish a Ranger bass boat  and I have 2 hand held controllers and a foot one on the XI5. I use the hand one almost all of the time, with spot lock and heading lock you need to adjust it very little. I moved away from the foot controller because as I fish keeping all of my weight on the leg that was not on the controller made it hurt after a day of fishing. The second controller goes to the person fishing the back of the boat so he can control the boat when I am catching fish or distracted .

For those that" DO NOT KNOW, Mr B," he is not looking for a free replacement. Not that kind of guy . Known him for many years and he is a stand up tell you the way it is guy. I will stand by him and just say, why not go half way or even 1/3 the way Motorguide  ? Customer service ++

     Art,

I get the "10 that are totally bull trying to beat the system " That is the real sad part of the whole deal. An honest customer looking for a half way deal, and those looking for a freebee. Those that are honest, get railed by the ones that put the bull.

Mr.B, I would stay on them and try to get a mutual deal with them.  This is not a $20 lure were talking about.

I am all for Mr.B  getting a replacement because it IS a special issue with his lack of use on the products. I was saying that the many others who abuse warranty issues by lying to get a replacement have ruined it for those that are honest and really do have a defective product. I hate that it happens and I hope that with a few more conversations they will be able to get a resolution that makes  them happy.

  7. I have fished for muskies with some of the finest musky friends and guides and I still have a perfect record of zero. I have beat them all using all kinds of old school lures. I will watch them  cast or troll there second best lures after making sure they have giving me the best in the boat. I always win ,

they usually are letting me cast first to the choice spots and willing the fish to attack but I have a secret weapon it is anti musky magic. I am not sure any lure no matter how good it looks will increase the odds of me catching a musky. I still say to all of those people who have tried to make me catch a musky Thanks it is always a pleasure to spend time with my friends in a boat talking and fishing.

  8. Location is key and getting the bait to the fish is just as important. Some of the biggest bass I have caught have been deep in the slop. I like to find coontail weeds that have open pockets  and lower a 3/4 oz pig and jig down in and jump it around. another area is under docks and blow downs. As you look at the lay of the land look for points and channels if you do not have a depth finder then you can usually visualize what the land leading down to the water most likely continues in that pattern.  If I have no idea what is going to work them I use a fast search bait like a spinner bait or crankbait depending on the weed growth. Once fish are located I will then start to work the area with a slower bait that can get further back into the cover that is around.

  9. I have a smaller battery that is used for 12 volt emergency lighting from home depot. I am able to use it for 5 hours  without recharging. This keeps it from getting any electrical interference from the starting and the trolling motor on the screen. If you want to test the starting of the motor that is making the unit shut down put a volt meter on the battery and see if it loses more than 3 volts if so that is the issue.

  10. O.K. folks talk hockey and about the teams. You can express your opinions that you hold DO NOT EXPRESS OPINIONS ON THERE OPINIONS  if you need clarification send me a P.M. I am really tired of this crap that some of you are expressing about others opinions and the bickering back and forth. I now ask if you disagree with someone to the point that you are going to insult them the simply block them. Bickering and fighting opinions will now get you into the penalty box automatic 1 week suspension from the site. I am tired of refereeing adults and if you do not have the self control to follow the rules then I will help you.

Final warning if you think this might be addressed to you it most likely is.

  11. If you decide as you go thru Virginia Take a day and Fish the Potomac River you will not be disappointed. I have fished further South and have had a good time fishing for Bass but I find that I get side tracked for Crappie and if Saltwater is near, forget it I am hitting the inshore fishing. I went down to Florida in March and caught a few nice bass nd then it was all Saltwater .

I am lucky that an accidental fish was released called the snakehead in the Potomac it has proven to not do the damage forecasted and has added a great sport fish that taste excellent. I hope they do not get out of the area and with the saltwater influence it has the possibility to contain them if people do not get stupid.

I will say the reason I fish around is to target the different species and the glorious Great White North has a huge place in my heart both for the people and the outdoors that you all have and thankfully share.

then our fisheries would turn into the depleted mess that is united states bass fishing.

Our fishing is so damn good for a reason, im a fan of keeping it this way as painful as it is. Let the fish on the beds  do their thing in peace.

Yes a few A holes are always going to be a mess, but the last thing the kawarthas needs is a bunch of idiots hammering bed fish for a month straight. If everyone actually practiced proper catch and release then id consider it...but sadly thats about 10% of people that fish.

Tight regs, and even harsher enforcement. Lets keep our bass fisheries the way they are...the best in the world.

I think anyone breaking the law should face punishment. If you see it and you do not report it then you are as guilty as they are for turning a blind eye. I personally disagree on the state of bass fishing in the U.S. I have fished for both and honestly don't bass fish up North because I can do that down here. I however do not have musky or pike due to the warm weather so they are what I target.  I think that up North needs the added protection due to the short growing season and the higher mortality as water levels fluctuate.

  13. When I am up North where the blood sucking creatures are way more active than down here. (meaning I am not used to feeding them). I use a bug suit as needed and 100 % deet on my hat and cuffs to keep them at bay. I also wear latex gloves on my hands when they are exposed to keep them from biting. One of the good things about the little buggers is when you are out fishing and you have a dozen or so dragonflies on the carpet deck on the boat and they attack the incoming horseflies.  Lots of fun watching that when the bite slows down.
