  1. Awesome!!! Im gonna steal that one!!
  2. I'm also from SRF - Grew up there - moved out 20 yrs ago (wow - time flies)! Pretty cold this time of year for fishing, but as mentioned above, there is good pickeral/pike (and i hear that they are catchin the odd SM Bass there now..?) fishin in the Mattag.. If 'uncle harold' is Harold Priebe, then you are up the Mattagami river near the famous 'Catsass'...good fishin right there - or just up the river at Island Falls...and even better if you can make it to Yellow Falls... Let us know how you made out!! Ken
  3. TJ - I betcha a battery charger will be cheaper than a fountain pump. Just make sure that you get a manual charger - that way it should work without a battery. Besides, this way you will have a charger in case you leave the lights on your 4 wheeler!
  4. If the problem continues after cleaning the filter, I would focus on the fuel pump...
  5. If these batteries are just for the trolling motor etc, I would stay away from the combo Deep Cycle/starting battaries. They are basically a compromise. The 'group 27' batteries are what you want for the trolling motor - and are worth the extra money vs combo batteries. However, I bought a CTC 115aH deep cycle (Group 27) for $120..Naututica or something like that.. They also have Group 27 batteries at Bass Pro, Costco for reasonable prices (close to $100)
  6. Warm hubs arent a problem. Hot hubs are a problem. As mentioned above, sounds like the seal is leaking. No biggie, but good time to change them.
  7. Thanks for all the input. Indy- I think I found the map you refer to on the Beaverland web site.. Will give them a try - At least it is a place to start. There is a lot of water between the dam at 64 and the Bruce/Mcfee lake!! We leave for Marten River Wed AM - will let you know how we make out! Ken
  8. Thanks -will be tough to get off the Marten River system, but thanks for the info. Ken
  9. Hi all: Headin to Marten River PP for a annual camping trip next week. We have fished there in the past with limited success - a few small pike and a sm bass or two.. We fished the river between the park and Beaver Land lodge, and then in Marten Lake in the bay on the SW end of the lake (just south of the bridge). Anyone local have any suggestions as to where to start for better luck with SM Bass/pickeral? Not looking for anyones secret spots, but more like some places to start. Seemed that the Marten river gets a lot of pressure, and we would likely have more luck in the lake??? Also..from a map, it would appear that one could access Red Cedar lake by boat from Marten river - perhaps that is another option? Any help would be appreciated..
  10. Yeah - If I recall, there was a pretty big multi-coloured playground by the beach..?
  11. Hi Mike - I have never stayed there, but I have driven thru it.. We camp at Marten River PP (which is right across the river) every year - it is a great park... To me, it seemed like the camping area at Land O Lakes was mostly seasonal campers who leave their campers there all year..
  12. Before the F150, I had a 95 Ranger XLT 2x4,4.0L, Manual.. Great little truck..put 200k on it before selling to my father (that should tell you a lot!) No trouble but normal stuff (Brakes, tires, battery, etc). The only thing was - it was WAY light in the rear end for winter...you need to put 300lbs in the box for it to even consider driving ok in the winter...but this is normal for 2x4 trucks.. Snow tires were a must... But, other than that - no complaints.. That 4.0 was a great engine..
  13. Thats Easy.. 1/4 oz green and yellow joghead...with chartreuse twister tail..
  14. Oh yeah, the live Supertramp is awesome...especially the Roger H songs...
