  1. Its Canadiens. Not to be a spelling Nazi. But there is a difference and Im a pathetic leafs and flames fan, lol
  2. Kosh is my home lake. I have a cottage on it and know it very well. Awesome bass lake. Also lotsa walleye. Just remember to release the big ones. I grew up wishing to be able to fish walleye there and now that I can I see a lot of fish being taken. Decent muskie but not a lot as they would never have stocked it with walleye if it had a high muskie population. Im not sure of the beach campground? There is a beach and places to camp but its not permitted anymore.
  3. Piles of wolves in the Alqonquin area. They are a separate species of wolf and are similar to a red wolf. Much smaller than a timber wolf. Seen lots in the area. They do interbreed with coyotes too as sub dominant males will breed with coyote females. There are also coyotes in the area. Red wolves are designed to kill deer, and timber wolves are designed to kill larger animals like Moose and elk, Caribou etc. This subject was my thesis in College. Im surprised at how few knew this? Kinda thought it was common knowledge to the regs in the areas and all the info about it. I tried pasting an MNR website link but I have no idea how to use this site.
  4. Just an fyi. There are a lot of shoals in middle of the basins that are not on maps or navionics. I use navionics a lot and two shoals I fish are not marked, and not on navionics yet will ruin a boat. Kinda surprising considering they are right in middle of travel ways.
  5. I hear ya. I almost had a marine unit run right into my boat. He came flying in to my left and realized there was a shoal right there that I was moving by to fish. He veered around it to miss rocks and damn near hit me. I gave him shyt. lol. Told him he should right off his boat on the rocks before endangering me and my bass boat. I obviously had all my gear on board and was totally legal. I informed him that endangering the public just for a potential torn lifejacket fine is pathetic. He agreed and left very embarrassed. lol. I know the local CO's around here and they have been really good to me. I have ran into others that are brutal. I graduated form the course and decided I'd venture into a different investigative field and it was a smart move.
  6. A CO can fine you for open alcohol in a public place. Liquor Licence Act. Though if you are doing it without littering and have a designated driver most CO's wont charge you.
  7. I think they really need a stronger defense. Maybe a winger to go in 2nd line but they are strong offense wise. But man we need help in the back end if we wanna compete with the likes of the bruins and other deep teams. Just my opinion.
  8. quoting moxie Totally understand and agree but there is one major issue. Its not the MNR or provinces problem to deal with. It is a Canadian Charter of rights. As it stand our Natural Resources legally will always go in order, 1. Native, 2. Commercial and then 3. us as Sport. Its written in stone and something we always have to deal with but hard to accept as they are abused.
  9. Buckshot is not a very good idea. Very little range and not very accurate. Like previously mentioned a rifled slug and a well sighted in slug will be a far better weapon. Experiment with different brands of slugs, as some are much better out of different shotguns.
  10. Maybe in Northeastern Ontario excluding Abitibi and temiskaming areas. Too many knuckleheads in this area killing every bass they see because they are hungry. Bass to me are a heck of a lot more important than introduced garbage like, Chinooks, Rainbows, Browns and Cohos. Just kidding but in reality same arguments on both sides. Both have very important sport fishing benefits in most ranges. Heck Bass are far more at home here than the others excluding the far North. Pike here are the biggest problem. Kawarthas may be in a lot of trouble.
  11. Also you need a season. You do realize when, how and the general reality of how easily the males can be pressured while protecting the nest right? And how that can implicate the future generations? Both responses to chatkhouse. Quotes aren't working on my end.
  12. As long as they are under slot then I'd be fine. If they are large breeder females I have a huge issue with that. Anyone with half a brain would. They are a very important sport fish. I do agree with them in Northern Lakes needing to have smaller ones culled. In the kawarthas and other lakes they under plenty of enough pressure. But hey Im a technologist who fishes a lot of tourneys, not an ichthyologist.
  13. I really hope your kidding Chotchkie.
