  1. Colour is probably more important then scent. Scent will close the deal when a fish actually gets close enough to the bait because it sees it and perceives the tube as food. A Bass' sense of smell is not as developed as a Trout or Salmon. Try a rattle inside one.
  2. Great days catching Lake Simcoe Smallmouth as they have really began to bite steady. Its been a jerkbait bite over 16-20 feet of water in the morning for aggressive fish, followed by drop-shotting later in the day. Multiple fish following after hookup and its been fun hooking the followers with Senkos. Some not too shabby Pike on some of my traditional bass areas caught on Spinnerbaits and fighting real HARD. Made it down to BassMaster Elite Series for the weekend and fishing was great too. Highlight for my wife was meeting Mike Iaconelli. Great hanging with some of these guys and listening to how frightened some of them were in the BIG water. Enjoy the below pictures...i gotta go ice my shoulder. 3. Nice job..some of the pros would have liked a bag of them.
  4. I'd disagree with MCRAE PT. having a good launch. I wanted to launch there for a prefish but found it not suitable(narrow) and dangerous (boulders) on both sides for my 21 foot fiberglass. I paid the 20 to launch @Starlite Marina just up the road.
  5. Heres something I wrote specific to Rice and I hope it helps. Rice Walleye-Ripping. Good luck
  6. Only 6 bites this morning but all bass over 4 lbs, largest about 5.40lbs. Had only til 11am to fish. New area found today cabbage weedlines with Lucky Craft Pointer 128. View Hawg Video Here is a pic of the big girl. My wife and best fishing partner in the world Janice pounded on the Northern Pike with Spinnerbaits Gotta love the big dumb city bass. I have a client to guide tomorrow so I hope they are hungry again. tightlines & cross their eyes... Mark T.
  7. Its a bit of drive but Pefferlaw is $10 flat rate.
  8. Look for trees and fish/skip senkos. Tubes have their place too. Pike-get a grip from top of fish behind cheeks/gill plate. If your from shore, cover some water and you'll find them.
  9. Probably the best bay on the lake...Good Largemouth and Muskie in there. Fish the moment. If calm, try a topwater, a little windy-try a spinnerbait. Shoreline blown in slop will hold largemouth too-try texas rigged plastics.
  10. This is from my mapping unit. Enjoy!
  11. Oh yah..speedo man..might have been Fruit of the Loom..wasn't looking that close. I think the jumping fish woke him up. He was creepy.
  12. Hi I've been a lurker for a couple of years but do contribute to other boards you may also browse as CHROMINATOR13 and RANGER13. Weekend was great participating in Fishing Week festvities and Toronto Island. Pike and Bass fishing was PHENOMINAL all weekend. Bass all caught on Green Senkos and Northerns on White Spinnerbaits 3/4 oz double willow.
