  1. Nice try out there and good on ya for braving the wind/rain. Bet there were less boats than last year? Anyway good report and too bad ya didn't win a draw prize. I would have thought you might have had an advantage with the yak being stealthy and all, guess the fish didn't wanna play this year...lol. B)

  2. I too fished there often a few years back, had a trailer at Hawthorns. The bigguns were there but with all the jetskiing water skiing and just plain gas burning on the lake the best time to fish it was during the week. I did catch my fair share of nice fish, and everyone of them (minus a few perch ) were released. I think with todays technology in cameras more people can practice C&R and not have to keep their limits. Sure take what you can eat for a meal once in a while but remember to snap a shot then you can show off your fish and let em go. Just my opinion and thats what I do anyway. B)

  3. Hey bro nice work for an evening out. The bridge is ok for some small panfish but if you really want to find some decent fishing I would suggest a row bow rental or a canoe or try out a yak. If you have an electric trolling motor bring it but the lake isn't that big that you can't row or paddle around. Good luck to all who fish the derby this weekend and Tiger if ya go.

  4. I'm not sure we need any help to eat em...lol. We only kept a doz, prolly should have released em all but some were so hungry the Lucy Jig was stuck in their eyes or ripped their mouth so bad. The size was lesser than we have caught at Island lake but talk about action. The fishfinder had fish showing up constantly. Great place to throw in the yak. It's a similar size to Island lake, not as wide and much deeper and longer with lots of little bays to cruise in and out of...if I were a fish. B)

  5. My wife and I decided to try Binbrook Conservation Area for the first time. Launched the AGUSTAWIND at 11am and by 11:05 fish-on. We never looked back and fish after fish was the days events. We boated 65 Crappies (kept 12) a Smallmouth, a Largemouth and a perch. What an awesome day. Gotta luv the Binbrook. 8-)

  6. Fished there every weekend a few summers ago, had our tent trailer at Hawthorns. Lots of fish in there and hope some get released or it won't take long to fish it out. Plentiful perch numbers and decent sized bass of both species, bigmouth and smallmouth. Never seen a trout in there though????? As a matter of fact my bro Jediangler is there today in his Yak, watch for his report.

  7. Hope thats not true. The MNR should know better then that, there are mechanical weed eaters that can be used with little to no adverse effects to the chemistry of the water. The costs are reasonable and the long term goal can be accomplished quite easily. Now look what has happened, hope this doesn't affect other species within the system. Dang...our ecological system is so delicate when the hell are people gonna figure it out. :wallbash:

  8. I caught a 33" ski on a banjo minnow...the next cast I caught an 11 lbs carp also on the banjo minnow. Sorry no pics of the fish Jedi was out in his canoe with the Impaler that day while I fished from shore. There are some nice fish in the pond...just gotta find em. Good luck !

  9. Nice work there little fisher dude. Where were ya? Looks like some decent water to toss a line in relax with a minnow and watch for the float to go down. Keep up the good work. You may want to try throwing a mepps spinner if ya run out of bait, always works good for me for pike. Good luck on yur next outing. :thumbsup_anim:
