  1. Great fish! I was just at Eagle 2nd week of August for Musky. That's my all time favorite lake. I should be up there again October 3. There is only 1 public boat launch on that entire lake!?!?
  2. Eagle Lake has some great Walleye fishing. Take a look at some of the resorts at Eagle Lake on Facebook. Some very big Walleyes in those pics. Eagle is 4 hours above International Falls.
  3. I've been spending a lot of time on Rainy River lately. Fishing was slow for me when I arrived here but it is picking up. I found a nice spot near "the gap" that is holding some big smallies. I caught those on a buzzbait, white swimbait, and blue fox #5. I've been trolling the weedbeds, 6pm to dark using spinners (white with some red) and have caught 8 northerns 37-40 inches. One Northern was 34 inches but it's girth was incredible. It was fat! I jig for Walleyes on Lake of the Woods in various spots (I look for the charter boats) and fish near them. A lot of people use hammered gold jigs which work but I've started using a drop shot rig with a frozen shiner, and it's been working great! I was jigging a deep channel yesterday for walleye, and latched onto a 52 inch sturgeon. My first sturgeon ever. I was using a gold hammered jig, red tinsel, and a frozen shiner! The fight was on with light tackle and 8lb test. 45 minutes later it was in the net. If anyone wants more specific locations, feel free to reply.

  4. sounds like a great trip! I would like to go back there one day. It's just a far drive for me.
  5. I fished there 18 years ago. I stayed at Garden Island Lodge. I was there in late June early July. We seemed to do better trolling small crankbaits. My 10 year old caught a big blue walleye. He had a crankbait with some white on it and they hit that a lot more than any other lure. I remember other people were using floating jig heads, nightcrawler, and back trolling. Good luck
  6. Thank you for the tips. I'll check it out.
  7. looking at honey harbour now! Thank you very much
  8. I need a 2-3 day getaway from work. I am towing my 16' boat to Canada, crossing at the Peace bridge one morning next week. I've been to Rice Lake, Pickerel River, and many places above Sudbury. Just don't want to drive over 500 miles from Pittsburgh for only for a few days. Musky, Pike, and bass is what we would be interested in. Has anyone fished the Pickerel river lately? Loved that place but haven't been there in years. I know it is further than Barrie but if somebody recommends it, I would make that drive. Greatly appreciate any suggestions on a lake or river and maybe a launch. I would sleep in the truck or motel nearby.
  9. Congrats on 3rd place. Nice fish!
  10. Nice video! I bought a mavic pro for Xmas and I am still learning how to fly it. I bought it to do the same thing you are doing. Where did you get the floats for the legs and the insurance? I saw some cool vids where the drone is hovering to where the fisherman was casting topwater baits and it captured some cool strikes. Have pred birds attacked it yet?
  11. Excellent video. I was there in August for the 1st time. We boated 2 using bondy baits. Congrats!
  12. Doing my research on Eagle lake I think I found the place with the game violations. I need the American plan because I fly from Pittsburgh to Toronto, then to Thunder Bay. That's the cheapest route unfortunately. I appreciate the help very much.
  13. Nice post.
  14. The 2nd link didn't work. Too bad that tackle place doesn't have an online store.?
  15. If I find a place up there that is for sale I will have you all over for a fish fry ?
