  1. I agree with what the other guys say, I have fished the French for over 12 years and just a handfull of walleye to be had and we have fished hard, mind you we drank even harder. BOQ is great but the boat traffic is wild. Callender Bay for me would be the place to hit northern Ontario 3.5 hours north if the GTA and lots of great spots to fish and if you want to drive into town for some guy entertainment and this is not a plug but the Mosey on Inn is there so you can see some eye candy at night and fish in the day. Good luck Ken
  2. Very nice work I am sure you be the envy at the launch this spring. Tight lines and sharp hooks Cheers Ken
  3. In Cambridge they have a really stupid by-law which states if you don't have a double driveway, from April 1 to Oct 31 is the only time you can store your recreational vehicles. Otherwise a 2,500.00 fine!!! Ken
  4. I think it does but there is a central docking area, but the place is so secure you can leave your stuff in the boat and not worry about anyone taking anything. The camp doesn't have a launch but there is one just down the road and it is free for anyone stay at the camp depending on what time of year your going it can be a little shallow there too.. but it is a good launch and they sell bait and stuff there too. Have fun Ken
  5. Stayed there 2 years in a row the place is great only problem I had is the dock area as it is a little shallow and can pose a concern bringing your boat in from fishing. Other than that myself and my family enjoyed staying before we purchased our own cottage last year. If you go say hi to Frank and Claire. By the way Frank will put you on to fish if you find it getting slow. Good Luck Ken
  6. I have a Mustang Atlantic class suit it is awesome had for 4 years wondered what I had done before.. anyway went to the cottage show and noticed a store called Europe Bound selling Bouy O boy suits for $ 99. a far cry away from the 300.00 + dollars I spent for the mustang. I bought one for my wife and she loves it so to be honest I think these companies have a regualtion to follow when it comes to these suits and if you see one on sale I would pick one up. By the way the company that makes Bouy o boy also makes Natulias suits. Check out the spring fishing show you might get one on sale there Good Luck Ken
  7. Hi All,would like to thank everyone for the advise I was given on crate training for the newest member of our household. I would also like to mention of anyone is seeking a loyal friend for the family have a look a the SPCA in your area or surrounding area. We live in Cambridge but went to Barrie to rescue our little girl. Nothing like feeling great about giving a animal another chance and truly feeling like you made a differance. Thanks again. Ken
  8. Oh youre in for it now... nothing like having your employeer having access to you and your life 24/7. Make sure if your walking and reading your emails there are no pole or anything to run in to that is what is happening here at Toyota. They had to issue a memo... stop and read don't walk and read!!!! Have fun Ken
  9. Thanks for the info... maybe it will give the guys at Natural sports a little run and bring prices in line a bit. Always want to support the local guys instead of the big onese like BPS. Ken
  10. If you walk out from the North end and walk South about 1000ft nice weed bed and the pike like to hang out. Used a cyclops with minnows seemed to work well. Good Luck Ken
  11. Thanks all for the great advice and words of wisdom.. I am sure we have our work cut out for us but in the long run we think it's worth it as she will be a member of our family. Ken
  12. Check out WalMart as they carry eagle and hummingbird protables 129.00 should get you one. Good Luck Ken
  13. Hi All,we are resucing a husky from a shelter she is 1 yr old and we told to crate train her as she should not have the run of the house when no one is home, any advise would be welcome. Ken
  14. The boat your looking at seems a little under power. I have a 18' princecraft with a 115hp 4 stroke and that gets me to where I want to be and off the water if a strom should brew up all of sudden. A deep v hulled boat is what you need for fishing big water like Wiarton,Piction. Have a look at Sturgeon point marnia that is where I bought my boat. Good luck Ken
  15. Happy new years to all, I am thinking of taking my fishing partner(wife) on a fly in fishing trip would like some sugguestions and tips since I have never done this before.
  16. I would look at TSC stores they have a good selection of pumps and a better price than CTC. Ken
  17. Do you have a sand point well? and if so you might have to have the pump cleaned and overhauled, if not feel the pump if it's running hot during the cycle then time for a new one as it would be more money replacing the bearings that actually buy a new pump. Hope this help Ken
  18. We meaning my family have stayed at Promised Land camp a couple of years in a row untill we bought our own cottage!!!... it's not a bible camp!!! Frank and Claire do a great job of making sure you have everything you need. Cottages are very clean the grounds are the same if you haven't fished Nippising Frank will show you spots and is very informative as to what to use and the depth to fish and look for. Good Luck Ken
  19. I have fished this body of water for many years and of course have seen the water level drop, if you fish in Wolseley you will find depths of 34 to 86 feet as you haed south and approach the Main Channel if you head east(left) you will find yourself in a huge bay where the depths can go to 131 and more feet. If you are looking for Musky instead of heading east head west the the same intersection, you will see and light brown cottage on your left and a dark brown cottage on your right these are the only two landmarks that make this intersection.. anyway head west the depths range from 32 to 48 feet if you take it to the end and I mean till the rapids you will find a nice section that reanges in the 15 to 32 feet. I caught a 36 lbs musky trolling in this area back and forth and there are pickeral there also. If you need morer info email me : Ken [email protected]
  20. Say Hi to Frank and Clarie for me please... you can go online and check at this link. http://www.torbay.net/ Good luck Ken Lee
  21. Which Lake are you heading too? I am heading up that way after christmas also but did check a lake I have fished before (Tunnel Lake) it is not frozen. The lake my cottage is on is west of Hwy 129 (Echo Lake) it too is not frozen. I would suggest calling Tunnel Lake trading post or a spot in Chapleau to see before you head up that way!!! Merry Christmas
  22. Hello all first... I would like to wish all a safe and Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year and hope the J-11 hooks are sharp. I am looking for a place that would rent a utilty trailer as I want to get some firewood and get it to the cottage over the holidays... Would you know of a place other than U-haul!!! Ken
