  1. Looks just like my dinner tonight at the Whitby Rib Fest.
  2. We rented a cottage on Eagle Lake at the end of July and was wondering what species I will find? Also, what's the lake like... Weedy? Rocky? Etc..
  3. It's a 1994 40hp Force. What the heck, just put an order in through Online.
  4. Soaked in oil over night, one quick tap and it popped out. Now that I have it off I have discovered no one carries these old props on the shelf. Online purchase it is.
  5. Cotter pin broke while trying to pull it out = great.
  6. Appears to be an old rusted cotter pin which I assume needs to be removed? This is all new to me and any advice would be appreciated.
  7. Prop on my 1994 Force 40hp outboard is dinged up pretty bad and i'd like to replace it. How does one choose a correct fitting prop? And lastly youtube seems to make this job a simple DIY driveway project, true?
  8. I love the layout and for a 13' 6" boat it is EXTREMLY stable. The front deck is definetly big enough to fish from, I weigh roughly 185lbs and can barely get it to rock in any direction when up front Only negative is very little storage. As for swamping....yes BW are not going to sink but man I only had it in reverse for one quick shot before it was too late. Lesson learned.
  9. Mother nature was finally nice to us up here in southern Ontario and took my family out fishing for the first time on our new to us 13' BW. The boat handled as expected but here are a few things I'd like to mention and hear some feedback on: 1) I learned not to use reverse whenever possible due to the short transom...swamped the boat pretty bad! The entire splash well was over flowing into the boat and gas / battery where floating 2) My gas mileage was not as good as I expected. I estimated 30km at either 3/4 throttle or WOT and burnt threw 5.5 gallon tank, made it back to launch on fumes, outboard is a 1994 two stroke 40hp Force. Roughly 425lbs of cargo. 3) My hole shot varied throughout the day, some where extremely snappy and got onto plane very fast vs. others where painfully slow but eventually it got up onto plane (outboard does have electric trim/tilt) Here is a picture of my son catching his first perch of the day http://www.allcarson.ca/pics/CanadaDa...daDay1.jpg
  10. Thanks all, called local CT and they have some in store.
  11. Who in the durham area sells drain plugs? Canadian does not list on website nor does wallmart....
  12. Can anyone recommend a campground within 2 hours drive from Durham area that can accommodate over night boat dockage? So far I have targeted Emily and Sharbot Lake, has anyone docked their boats at either of these?
  13. Thanks...just like everyone else I'm waiting for that damn ice to go away. Yup Whitbytonian: last year I could leave my driveway and be fishing Lake Scugog in under an hour. I assume if I search this forum hard enough I'll find boat lauch recomendations for all of the various local lakes eh?
  14. Here it is: http://www.allcarson.ca/pics/BW1.jpg
  15. Negative, has a 15hp electric start. The goal is to upgrade to a newer 25hp in a year or two.
  16. G'Day All New member here. Up until last year I would fish once maybe twice a year...mid summer of 2012 I bought a 9' inflatable with a 7.5hp and found myself fishing A LOT Now here we are in 2013 and I upgrade my boat to a 11.6' Boston Whaler and plan on finding myself on various lakes within 1-2 hours drive from Whitby. I have many questions about fishing and boating and look forward to everyones feedback / guidance. Cheers, Matt
