Have a great trip Dan, it'll be good to hear how you & Sally make out up there.

Lew you could move that boat 1-2 inches back taking amazing amount of tongue weight off.
Yes I knew that but it was a good excuse to buy a new truck LOL
I also didn't like the single axle trailer that came with the boat so I had a custom 2 axle trailer built in Michigan and it made a huge difference in the towing.

Had a '97 , the only mini van that was actually a truck. That 4.3 pulled like a small V8, I really don't see why they discontinued them , make more sense than these $50,000 plus Yuppie pickups that are all cabin space and no box.
I bought a new boat in '09 and the tongue weight was just a bit too much and the engine didn't really have the power to pull that heavy boat for long distances so I decided to get rid of it.
I've been driving those yuppie trucks ever since LOL

I would trade my truck for new GMC Safari in a minute.
I bought a new one in '96 and drove it for 4 years, then went over to the dark side for a few years and in 2005 I bought another new Safari. Both were great vehicles, both for comfort and reliability and neither ever needed more than basic maintenance.
Really happy with them.

Hard to see the station wagon on the edge of the picture but this is my Dad hooking up his 15' cedarstrip to his '53 Ford.
Don't know if you can make it out or not but the boat didn't sit ON the trailer, it hung UNDER it.

i think she thinks you cant see her because she is "hiding"
She actually followed me, I saw her a couple hundred feet earlier and snapped this 2nd picture then I walked away and she went thru the trees and came out again and when I took the 1st picture she was only 50' away.
Just a big ole friendly girl LOL

Can't imagine anybody is suffering much from the Winter Blah's today with this gorgeous weather.
I went for a 2 hour hike this morning, came home and had lunch then went back out and spent 2 more hours moving snow around.
Still didn't want to come in but I ran outta snow to shovel LOL

The pipe I'm using for the sprinkler system is 2" Schedule 40 PVC not poly.
Just curious as to what you'll use to power your fire pump Dave, will it run off a gas powered generator or do you have hydro at your place ?

I saw a show on TV recently and they said Koalas instinctively climb as high in the trees as possible when there's danger so the poor little guys don't stand a chance.

This was a horrible tragedy but received very little coverage on the news, yet the crash with Kobe Bryant is still talked about constantly on both Canadian & US stations.
Sad when similar terrible things receive such different amounts of interest.

Mentioned on the news this morning that one body was recovered a couple K downstream but now they've called off the search for the others.
Evidently it's a pretty strong current thru there.

No fish that day Wayne, but good times as always on the water.

My snowblower just kept plugging up,
I just picked up some snow repellent yesterday and sprayed in on my shovels and it worked great today. Didn't use the snowblower yet but sprayed it also and will giver a try tomorrow.
Made the shovels so slick the wet snow just flew off them.
For $9.00 I figured it was worth a try.

Love that garage Lew! Any toys in it now? Maybe a '67 Mustang?
Nope, just a tool box and snowblower Dax LOL

Loved my SKEETER and had it for 10 years without an issue on boat or motor.
It was a great musky fishing boat and we saw plenty of action together.
But when I decided to retire from fishing I sold all my gear including the boat and this was the last day I had her and the new owner picked her up just after this picture was taken.
Kind of a sad day really.

A two toned deer in my yard
in General Discussion
Posted · Edited by lew
A week ago there was a deer in my yard that was half white & half brown but she disappeared before I could get my camera. Just an hour ago I looked out and she was here again but she started to head back into the woods but I was able to get this picture from the rear but you an see the two colors very clear.
Pretty kool looking critter and certainly nothing I've ever seen before.
Hopefully I can get a better shot if she returns.
Just ignore the big ole turkey trying to hog the picture LOL
