Weather was great these past few days. Only thing that would have made it better was that if i actually hooked into a fish haha.
Great pics as always Mike!

Happy birthday Carole! Have a great one!
-
Awesome stuff!
Are you coming back this year for a little while to fish in Ontario again?
Please explain to me why he would want to do that
That's awesome man. Ant and I have had 2 skunking weekends in a row ... that's 4 days lol. All we accomplished was honing our poaching skills (netting fish for the fish lift + fins/belly of suckers just seem to love roe bags)
-
I may come help out on Saturday.
Ron, is there anything that we need to bring other than Waders?
-
Just don't open it indoors or your Mom will have a hissy fit.

Too late Art.
My dad was cleaning up the garage the other day, he saw the bucket sitting there and wondered what it was ...
-
LOL, you and I are in the same boat.
I have an ice cream bucket of maize which I boiled last June sitting in the garage. Ready to be used hahahahahha.

looks awesome. I can't wait till the weather warms up so I can get the dust off the carp gear....

it's a nice change from all the chrome!!

Thanks for the updates sleepjigging!

have always enjoyed your reports. Sorry it took me a while to get to it ... haven't been on the board much lately. But you just got my vote! Good luck

Happy Birthday!

Sorry for your loss Cliff. Saddens my day to hear this
-
At least you got into some action. Try using your ice rods next time
-
that moment must have been scary. Glad that you're okay.
Stay safe everybody!

It's finally this time of the year!
It's only Monday but I already can't wait till the weekend for a few drifts.
Great way to start off the spring season Mike!

I live in North York and recently I also got a letter from a Municipal officer saying that I can't have my boat parked outside in the front. Where I had it wasn't really on the lawn but it wasn't on the driveway neither, it was like a landscaped area with stone paving. Either way I was told you can only park your boat inside the garage.
So I ended up moving it into the garage and make my parents park one of their cars outside. I may have to sell it since we're getting another car soon

Great work.
I was out both days this past weekend and all I got was one hook up that I lost mid fight
Sure needed waterproof boots

Welcome aboard Bud!
That's a pretty good intro, except you still need to get the pic-posting skills honed it
jkjk
edit: Uh now i see the other post, nice work

man all this talk is making me go crazy lol.
Nothing like wearing a tshirt, sitting under the shade and the adrenline rush when hearing the "beeps" from a screaming run.
-
Uh Lorne you already got to it before I finished typing.
learned something new today. I do use my "groundbait" and "method mix" interchangably though haha.
-
I believe that method mix and groundbait is essentially the same thing. They're usually composed of particles of different sizes which you can chum into the water as a ball or pack around your method feeder/sinker to attract the fish. They're meant to stay in tact till it reaches the bottom of the swim and from then on it slowly breaks down.
Packbait on the other hand is something you pack around your hookbait. The types of ingredients that's used is probably similar but packbait's suppsoed to be designed to break down much faster than groundbait/method mix. So your hookbait can be exposed with a small ring of particles around it once it hits bottom.
I could be wrong though, I'm sure other more experienced carpers are gonna chime in later.

Simon, I already know what he caught that fish on...I gave him that tube a few weeks ago on our last trip out
...So technically speaking, that's my fish and I "caught" it
That's right lol, he can't claim that fish to be his.
We were actually fishing side by side haha. All day he hasn't been seeing very many fish and I see the odd one every now and then so I told him to come to my holes.
I drilled that hole for him, he was using my fishfinder lol. AND he was jigging like 10 ft above me, the fish shot up from bottom, obviously thinking that mine was a good meal. I'm sure that if the fish didn't come up to inspect my lure he wouldn't have gone for Ant's tube haha.
So, in conclusion. I'd say I have 30% of that fish, Mike's got another 30%, and Jet's also got 30%. Pats on the backs guys, we got our simcoe laker for the year

Musky Mike buying a Carp Bivvy?
I just had to say it haha.
Good luck with the search!
