  2. just down water street about 2km's is Stevenson marina it has a launch, 10 bucks or something to use i would assume. What bridge? in town Hastings? or hwy 30? hwy 30 there is a launch
  3. Thanks for the tip. I am pretty sure they have the part you are talking about fenced in and covered with no trespassing signs. not sure why.
  4. Man, sounds like I over bid Stupid,Stupid me, Always low ball.
  5. No quit is this dog, I need to catch something in the Channel, even if its just a perch. What do you think about this idea? I have heard of people drop shotting for suspended small mouth in the fall with the bait well off the bottom. I was thinking of trying to mimic this technique by using a float with the drop shop setup to keep my bait vertical. Problem tho, how will I cast with ten ft of line. Anyways as we get deeper into fall, I thought I should be slowing down my presentation to a crawl ??? Again thanks for the pointers and encouragement, I will catch something:)
  6. Can I put an offer in? This mystery item sounds intriguing. I had a similar experience trying to sell, 150 new rapala lures. Told them I would sell them as many as they wanted, in any sort of package they wanted at a loss for myself. Three people said ya sounds great and never got back to me. And I would like to offer 68 dollars cash money.
  7. east, only because it is slightly closer.
  8. It's true , my post wasn't the most productive i've made. G.mech's post did rub me the wrong way, for various reasons. Justifiably, I'm not sure. Anyways, I will try to make my post a little more productive or at least more productive in the future.
  9. Very little fish activity the last two nights, maybe the warm front?
  10. I went the last two nights around 12:00 am, and once last week. Considering going every night until I catch something. Been drop shotting mostly, tossed a spoon around last night, might try a big jerk bait tonight.
  11. Ok, it could of been caused by hundreds of different things, but what is most probable? Why would someone flee the scene, no licence, stolen, scared, drugs and alcohol. Is what I believe to cover most of the reasonable reasons why someone would flee. I'd also like to say I should of used more precise langue. Instead of saying it had to be booze or drugs I should of said it was most likely a factor. I won't go into why I think drugs and booze most likely played a role. One because I think it is fairly logical and a little lengthy to type out. I also feel the need to address what seems to me like an unwavering faith in our authorities abilities. It appears to me that you assume an investigation will bring all details of this incident to light. I find that sentiment flawed, despite its endearing and commendable nature. The reason for this is firstly, they may not find the persons responsible (I think they will). Secondly, however noble and beyond reproach our investigators happen to be; I struggle to see how they will be able to prove that drugs and alcohol were a factor. Please feel free to point out the holes in my logic, great way to improve.
  12. No need to wait for the investigation, when i know it was drugs or booze. Didn't realize this wasn't a place for speculation, sorry.
  13. I have pictured myself running to the end the pier to avoid being spooled. I am pretty sure I have one of the glow in the dark cleo's around somewhere. Sounds like a need to spend some time fishing a little higher up in the water column as well. Two rods it is, next time.
  14. Just a thought, and a costly one at that. I was thinking putting a gopro on each boat, clearly way to expensive. But, cloud five boats be randomly selected placement and battery life would be an issue of course.
  15. I haven't caught anything in the channel yet, well over 20 hours now. I did fairly well from shore up until, the first week or two of august. I really only went near dusk when I had finished work early. And, by fairly well I mean averaging one(bass or Pike) decent fish per outing. I need to find somewhere or someone that will let me store a canoe or use one. Or maybe by one of those floating tube things.
  16. Thanks!, very motivating. I do plain on fishing it deep into the fall. I went last night and got notta, but I will keep at it. Big water equals big fish and that's what really gets me excited about it.
  17. How big do the pike get in the bay? And can you catch them from shore in the fall? I caught few form shore this summer in the 5-7lb range.
  18. I have fished the bay from shore a fair bit this summer, caught a dozen or so decent fish. I am hoping to catch a big fat small mouth in the channel heading out to the lake this fall.
  19. i am going to give the channel another try later on tonight.
  20. ya, i think there was a white plastic chair. I was at the point of a mini bay, east side of the bay
  21. Hmm, don't think I have meet you. However, I think i may of seen you paddle by me once when I was fishing a lillypad patch from shore. I would bring my canoe up if I had somewhere to store it.
  22. Thanks, for all the input everyone and feel free to keep it coming. I find it pretty helpful, and maybe even more importantly very motivating. Also, I would be opposed taking out/meeting up with someone that really knows there stuff.
  23. My Cottage is on the island right in front of the trail park. I have caught some of my biggest smallmouth right in front of that place. It's one of my good to spots usually can't count on it for at least a fish or two.
