Gerrist I dunno if you can truly say that about a 15' rod and higher catch ratio...I was there that day on the beaver and I remeber doing soem serious damage on the bows with a 15' rod...Way more line control then most guys which means that you keep a straight line between you and the float and you dont ahve an extra 15' of lien out when you go to set the hook I would hardly say that your tryign to be in a fashion show spending good money for quality gear that isnt made in a sweatshop over in asia nothign wrong with runnign good equipment...you guys say the same thing about people who bass fish and have 12 different combos on the boat and a garbage bag full of baits? Ya CCMT all the fish bonked outa the creeks this year spend all their lives for the most part out in Lake Ontario and are just as bad even in the creeks as they are out in the lake Maybe people will kill less fish now I think it's sad the lack of knowledge that people have in regards to where creek fish come from Nate

Ok so I purchased a Navionics gold= card a while back from cabelas...after reading on the internet it shows that the older monochrome units have 1.4.0 which is the software my unit has after looking at software info in the menu bar. In order to run the Navionics Gold+ chip it says you need to upgrade through the website to get the 1.5.0 software. So I bought the USB card reader, got a blank 128mb card from my camera...downloaded the file onto the chip. put the chip in the slot on the gops and turn on the unit. It says that the software will update itself when the chip is put into the SD card slot.When I select from the menu mmc card data it shows the update is there yet it isnt updating well I have done the following and my software for some reason or another is failing to load...I turned off the unit threw the Navionics chip in and still no depth contours. Please anyone who can help I need this thing runnign by the weekend and am at my wits end Nate

Truth be known we have been fishing by ourselves since the weekend and posts like this are gonna bring out every yahoo around the GTA Im sure we'll see you tommorow and I dont think that doing up reports here is the best thing to be doing this time of year it isnt all that fair to the rest of us who have put in the time busting out ice and trying to time it right when you do a report and you have everyone kneeling to you asking to take them out when most (no offence) are clueless somethings are best kept quiet Nate

hey guys on the way back in form simcoe yesterday towing the hut behind a sled without a cover I think when we hit a bump my transducer for my VX1 bounced outa the holder and musta ripped off. When we got back in it wasnt there and with 6-8" of snow on simcoe no way we would find it. I dont think that it coulda been repaired since it ripped right off of the cord. what a kick in the boys that was since we got skunked Anyone know somewhere in canada to purchase one ASAP? I need one by the weekend possible to run a vexilar ducer with the marcum unit? would make it much easier to find one Nate thanks guys
