Anyone know the thickness on VB, another week?
-
I will be out in the minden area for trout. I was on 5" of ice today but in less then 2ft of water. Cheers jeff
what area was that?
-
I've heard some guys are getting out in minden this weekend. Apperantly one guy has already gone through so be careful! Make sure you post a report when you get back

I know exactly where that pool is, miss it sooo much!
Good vid though

No time for perch this year. Walleye, pike, trout. Soooo much trout. Oh and burbot.
So Simcoe? BTW, did your number change when you moved?
-
No and to be honest I did not even walk on it. I only agreed with Wayne cause it seemed funny.
Went back today and the ice is gone and a couple of boats were launched. Oh well
Wasn't responding to Wayne but to this, sure looks like something went through...

Not really a fan of the digital displays, I like using the "old style", easier on the eyes and doesn't drain battery as fast.

Just noticed, did you actually go out and drill a hole? LOL

Well last night I was looking through kijiji and ebay for deals on sonar units, my dad saw me and apparently I was supposed to be getting one for Christmas. Kinda disappointing for both of us because I'd been saving up for the last month and my dad had been doing the same. Now that it's in the open we're just going to get it before the date since it's very likely I'll have been out a few times by then.
The unit that my dad was gong to go with was the FLX-28 (vex), I was looking at used units so I hadn't been doing a lot of researching but now that I have I'm considering the lx5 (marcum). What's everyone's opinions on these machines? they'll be used for all situations (perch to Simcoe lakers) so I like the dual beam feature but both of them have that, is the triducer really necessary? Low light option is interesting too but not really something that would sway my decision. I'm not really interested in graphs or dual purpose units, the "you can even use it in the summer argument" is really irrelevant since the only time I currently use my fishfinder is jigging which I can do with a flasher. I'm open to other flasher suggestions as well, but these are the ones I like most so far.

Well, the girlfriend isn't going to be happy, but looks like I'm going to be able to do a lot of ice fishing over the Christmas break.
Going to go for another try at "perch power up"?

Item #4, magog smelt.
This is the one that caught 4x4 bassin all those early season lake trout last spring. Again I'll give a big discount for the holidays, normally $3.30, I'll let you have them for $2.30 each since I know some of you wanted to give them a shot.

Nope. Spent enough time on that dead swamp
How much ice do you guys have? Was hoping to try a lake in the huntsville area before the 15th...

Where can we see the standings?

Love those fish prints Joey!
Here's item #3, stoneflies. This pattern has taken just about all of my steelhead in the last year, I usually tie it quite big (size 4-6) but of course smaller sizes are available, along with other colours to match your river.
And I'll give an amazing discount on these, $1.25 a piece, usually they would be $2.50.
(Al, if you feel I'm clogging this thread up just say the word and I'll stop)

Song is getting stuck in my head!

Figure I'll start a little 31 days of christmas, I'll post one item a day until the big day
Here's item #2, bucktails, this one is a 1/2 oz but 1/8 and 1/4 are also available.
$3 each

Interesting read. People all over the world could use the food as long as it doesn't destroy the natural food chain in the lakes and oceans. Me, I would rather get my salmon myself or from the store from BC suppliers.
BC isn't as good as you may think...

Nice video! Miss those days when it was refreshing to get wet

Great idea Art, thanks for the opportunity!
As some of you know I sell flies, jigs and spinners (trout and musky sized). I'll probably post a bunch of stuff up here but to start off I'll put up some basic nuke egg patterns, great pattern for steelhead, can be tied in just about any colour combination. I can also do normal eggs if you prefer. $2 each, $5 off and free shipping for any order over $25.

By the sounds of it the bear may have had a good bit of life to it, if that was the case he should have waited. But I guess we can't tell from that article.

ya we rented that film in the summer, great fishing, but doesn't deserve a film making award.
